Was it said by GOD that we must rest on the seventh day (Sunday)?

My question is this Did God or ?? say in the Bible that we must not work on Sunday? And where in the Bible is it?

The seventh day, Saturday, was the first thing made holy by divine decree in Gen 2:2-3. (Sunday is the first day of the week--a day devoted to th worship of the sun by pagan custom). Try a search for "sabbath" on www.blueletterbible.org. You may be surprised at how often God reminds his people that the sabbath is his special day set aside for worship.

Shabbat is related to "Lishbot," which means to cease from work, to go on strike. We're supposed to cease from gainful or forced employment (Ex. 20:10), building fires (Ex. 35:3), merchandising (Jer. 17:21-22), and cooking (Ex. 16:23) on Shabbat. Because God went on strike from creating, we shouldn't create on that day, either. Rather, we honor God as both the creator and redeemer of the whole world.

God never said to rest on Sunday, the first day. In fact, we are to labor for the six other days, just like God labored for the first six days.

By the way, the Catholic church proclaimed Sunday as a replacement for the sabbath for Christians. If you're Catholic, you would cite the church's authority over Scripture to make that change. If you're not Catholic, you may find it interesting that the Catholic church considers all Protestant denominations that worship on Sunday as her own since Sunday worship is her special invention, and in that, all bow to her authority over the authority of the Word of God.

it says in the very beginning of the bible how God had made the world in 6 days and rested on the 7th. no where does it say it was a Sunday that he rested. It is just basically that even God had to rest so shall all mortals. it never said the days of the week.

Sabbath continues to be there and Sunday replaced into declared via the Catholics by using fact the Day of the Risen Lord which they provide extra emphasis by using fact the day to rejoice. and to no longer take a relax, Sabbath now's being practiced via the seventh day Adventists and the Jews and reported no longer as an afternoon to rejoice yet to proceed the classic Day of relax. it is not interior the Scripture yet some excellent activities interior the Scripture (New testomony) has made the Catholics a reason to contain on their doctrines and teachings. It replaced into in basic terms interior the final a protracted time while all contributors of the Catholics have been allowed to confirm the Bible yet no longer without training to lead the reader. by myself, could lead on on one to invite like the type you probably did.

God has always spoken through prophets. His prophet Moses brought the commandments down from speaking with God.

The commandment was keep the Sabbath day holy. That meant that no one was to work, not you or your servants or your animals.

The Sabbath was Saturday until the resurrection of Jesus Christ. As a symbol of the newness of life and the new covenants to be made with God, the Sabbath was changed to Sunday, the original first day of the week.

BTW, I choose not to spend money on Sundays so that my servants (think store clerks, food servers, gas station attendants) do not work for me. If everyone decided to just skip spending $$$ on the Sabbath, maybe people wouldn't have to work on Sundays anymore.

No where in the Bible does it mention days of the week such Saturday or Friday.. It says to work 6 days and rest on the seventh day. It calls that day the Sabbath. I start working on Thursday, work thorough till Monday and I get Tuesday and Wednesday off.So for me personality my 7th day is Wed.

Yep- its ritgh there, commandment number 4- "Remember the Sabath day to keep it holy".

And in the hebrew calendar the days are merely Day one, Day two etc- untl instead of day 7 you have Shabat. Why the Christians felt compelled to switch to Sunday is not known to me, probably just to differentiate themselves from the Jews.
