Does anyone have any first hand knowledge on a legitimate home business?

I'm looking to find a way to make some money from home, either through one of those networking companies, or data entry, etc, but i don't really know where to start. I've looked into some in the past, but they have always been more of a scam than a real opportunity to make money.

Has anyone been successful making money at home?

Thanks,

Yes, I'm working from home doing affiliate marketing and learning as I go along through Wealthy Affiliate. I was sceptical about it at first but it turned out to be genuine.

Affiliate marketing is a great home business and if you really want to succeed I would recommend signing up with Wealthy Affiliate as well.

I also run a successful home based business.

I'm however NOT inviting you to join as I don't know whether it suits you. I'll outline WHY I chose my company.

Because I can earn high commissions (up to 40%) even if I NEVER sponsor anyone into the business. This creates an atmosphere in the field of RETAILING. It's EASIER to retail than it is to RECRUIT.

Because I only need 25 people to earn $500. Most programs you need over 100 to meet that small goal.

Because the company's run by people who actually KNOW and have EXPERIENCED network marketing from the perspective of a distributor.

Because the system is VERY duplicable.

Because there's NO HYPE. NO SELLING. NO MAKE A LIST OF EVERYONE YOU KNOW.

Because the company sells products at ONE price whether you join or not...and the commissions are the same from customer orders AND distributor orders.

Because the company doesn't mind if you join another company simultaneously.

Because the company's products are NOT overpriced.

Because the company's streamlined for success. They have no HUGE home office on thousands of square feet to be maintained. They have no huge staff of 500 or 600 people to be paid. There overhead is low so they can pay out the HIGHEST COMMISSIONS IN THE INDUSTRY.

Because the payplan is such that you earn from EVERYONE in your group.

Because volume does NOT have to come from just me, but throughout my group.

    Because checks are mailed weekly.

Because you break even with less than 10 people in your group.

Because people experience positive results in DAYS with our products. Not months.

    I think I've said enough.

I am successfully making money from home through affiliate programs and network/referral marketing. I have also had some success with direct sales.

First off, you should determine whether you are looking for a home JOB or a home business. If a job, what skillsets do you possess? If a business, what are your interests/passions? What works for one person, may not necessarily work for you. You have to choose your own "perfect fit".

Once you develop your experience/criteria list, you should then seek out companies that offer related opportunities. If you come across anything of interest, be sure to do your own research and ask lots of questions. RipOffReport.com is a good place to check for negative consumer references.

A general word of caution regarding home jobs: It is very difficult to find legitimate "data entry" or "typing jobs" at home. Most of the ads you'll come across for this type of "work" are not what they seem. My personal advice is not to invest any money into these types of programs. If you choose to do so, be sure the refund policy is clearly stated.

I have spa parties in my home and others. I generally sell about $250-$450 at each party with 8-10 guests. I make a 50% profit. That's $125-$225 each party. They take about 2 1/2 hours, 1/2 to set-up and then clean up and about two hours talking and demonstrating. Very casual atmosphere, doesn't feel like work at all. You can schedule as many as you want. Check out my site for more information:

Before give you advice will like to ask following questions;1)completely "at home".2)do you have capital.3)what kind skill you have?Work at home usually belong 2 groups;a) sell products, make commision.b.perform service and get pay;then depend on your skill. For the 1st group you need web side if selling in Internet and need to dealer ship to supply you good product and good term, don't be a 2nd or 3rd salesman. The easy way is selling"how to";the product is how to,but hard to find buyer. For selling service;as you mentioned;data entry, then you need a good company to trust you to handle their data. Some time is not easy..As i know some people they do baby sitter at home and make living. There are many scam in this business. If they ask you to pay some fee or buy some "starter kit" before you start. They already make money from you just be aware.

I have success - but it takes some time, support and a little start up cost (under $50) and the bottom line I am WORKING but from home.

Pick up the Success From Home magazine at Staples or your local book store. It has great ideas in it and financial advice and rags to riches true stories.

If you like the products and have some initial support you will do well. Be sure to ask many questions and "see" real results.

I'll keep the answer short and sweet... have a travel website.

The corporation is called YTB (your travel biz)

No inventory and everyone you know uses it. PLUS, they are a publicly traded company and also works with Travelocity.

If you put a little time in it, you will get a lot out of it.

here my site where you would book travel:

    www.dreamthedestination.com

and here is the site where you would sign up and you can find out more information about the business:

    www.dreamthedestination.biz

    I hope that helps!
