In follow up to another question...did You vote for the last US President based on your religious beliefs???

Don't answer for others, just for yourself, please!

Did your religious beliefs factor into your decision on who you voted for in the last Presidential election?

Mine did and I'm a fundamentalist Christian who voted against Bush because I don't agree with his stance on the use of tax dollars (spend more on the war than on issues that need to be addressed here to care for our citizens).

What about you, did your religious views factor into this and what religion or non religion are you?

Update:

I'll be putting this question to a vote later on, because this is each person's opinion and there is no best answer. So, come back and vote on this question based on the viewpoint that is closest to your own. Thanks!

I used to always vote for the "right guy" regardless of his religion. However, these last couple of elections were different. I voted *for* no one. Both of my votes were just plain *against* Bush, whom I saw as the wrong man for the job. Whatever his motivation, he took great pains to associate himself with the religious right. That move alienated me to such a degree that I never even considered voting for the man. In that respect, his present-day equivalent is Hillary. If those two were running against each other it might be the first election that I sat out.

In addition, his underhanded sabotage of the McCain campaign showed what a slimy hypocrite he really is.

No was not based on any religion, I based mine on what the canidates were "for" and "against". I did not agree with many of Bushs plans and stances on what he proposed. Personally I wouldnt mix religion with politics when voting, I would vote for the person whom I thought would do the best job for the country and economy....

If youre a fundie who voted against Bush because of his use of tax dollars, then your vote was NOT based upon your choice of religion - it was based upon a secular decision. Taxes have nothing to do with religion....

I am an atheist. I voted against Bush because it was the logical thing to do. Once again, logic was defeated by ignorance....

this can be the 1st election in 15 years that i will omit! i'm exercising recurring my precise to not vote with the aid of fact i don't think of that there is a candidate properly worth dropping the gas in automobile to bypass vote for and that i will haven't any area in putting the two of those adult men in the workplace of President of the country!! If i became into vote casting on my Christian ideals then i could have basically been able to vote for Mike Huckabee yet now that he's out, there is none worth of the area in my eyes. those varieties of issues could desire to come to bypass for the top to be to hand. :)) God bless you and yours.

I don't vote. I have been around long enough to know that if one politician is better than another somebodies lying. If you don't like who gets voted in, wait a few years and the opposite party will be in office. Everybody promises better circumstances but nobody delivers.

  • I don't like religion. I am a Christian. Ask a Catholic or an Orthodox Jew about religion.

My philosophy pertaining to life comes from the physical and spiritual experiences I've had thus far.

    I am Republican.

    And a veteran.

    And a Christian.

    And a moron.(sometimes)

No. Never have, never will. I vote based on what his platform is and how it relates to mine. Unfortunately, many of these change once they get in to office and thus my support for them changes accordingly.

No, I voted against Bush because he had already proved himself to be an idiot.
