What are 10 characteristics common to monsters?

Monster comes from the Latin for "created," so all monsters are created beings (just like Man... hmmmm)

So, they all have a creator and are all therefore less than their creator(s). As all possible creators are human, the monster must therefore be mortal (that's 4).

Well, the monsters in my head have these traits in common:

bigger than me

meaner than anybody I know

disappear and reappear at will

stinky

ugly

laugh at misery

long to scare

make people tremble

can't be trusted, even by other monsters

want Bush to stay president

They're hard to kill.

They can be killed by someone good and pure.

They're mostly ugly.

They're usually a bright color.

They're mean.

They're misunderstood.

They like the dark.

They have extra body parts.

They like to trap people.

They really like to terrorize little kids.

They wear black sometimes.

They lurk in shadows.

They hid in deep ponds.

They live in caves.

They hide in trees.

They have big teeth.

They have long claws.

They have bloodshot eyes.

They're usually old.

They disappear or disintegrate when you kill them.

They can disquise themselves.

There's always something they can't do - like vampires can't go in churches.

They can make themselves look like someone in your family.
