Where can I obtain a patent online?

I know patent agencies are expensive, but the View was mentioning that stay at home mothers have been using the internet to write their own patents at a much cheaper price. Can anyone help me? There are too many scam websites online these days.

The first guy got it right I'd just like to add that you need to research the patent to see if anyone else has it, first you can find that some major libraries have this resource or look it up on line. http://www.freepatentsonline.com/ or http://www.keypatent.net/

Enjoy this will take some time.

It's not that they are submitting their patents online what they are doing is creating the documentation necessary from online examples.

There are also plenty of sites that can help but these cost money. I have included the link to the US patent office. Look at the site and this will help you get started.
