All of them freak me out - especially the hissing cockroaches. I used to work in the warehouses on NAS Pensacola, FL. One day I was in one of the warehouses way in the back and this roach walked out and looked at me and said - "HISSS, Get out!" Well since it was the size of a freaking cat - I got the hell out of there - when my CO questioned why the inventory wasn't completed back there I explained about the roach. He looked at me like I was crazy and went to check it out himself. The man was back 10 minutes later and said "Yup - that is a non-standard bug." The inventory was not completed that month.
Now my CO was not a wimpy guy - before becoming "land-locked" he captained a submarine! I'm also pretty sure I saw him eating nails for lunch one day.

Bees
When I was a kid I accidently hit a hive while playing. Literally what seemed like hundeds of bees were chasing me and stinging me.
I am much better now but I was pretty bad up to about 8 years ago. If I saw one I would drop anything I had, scream and run like crazy. One day someone told me that looked like a nut case and so I became a little more self aware. Now I dont drop my stuff or scream but I do walk away at a very fast pace. Last year I was at the store and some lady started talking to me in the parking lot. In the middle of her sentence I saw a bee and walked off and got in the car. I later explained to her that I saw a bee (and I lied and told her I had an allergy)!

I'm not afraid of any insect. However, my immediate response in seeing a cockroach is....to kill it -- it's like a reflex! I also hate deer-flies -- those things will chomp a bit of flesh out of you! Again, I just want to kill the darn things -- but I'm not afraid of them! Spiders are actually pretty ok (except for the brown recluse, black widow, etc). They eat many bad insects. And, some of the larger spiders are able to kill a mouse! And, yes, as someone else here noted, they are not insects -- they are "arachnids" (which also includes scorpions, mites, and ticks)

I'm petrified of anything that flies. Flys, Wasps, Moths, Bees etc.
I saw a documentary once on Animal Planet, and it showed this HUGE wasp that lives in South America (The Black Hawk Wasp or something, I'm not sure of the name). Anyway, it's about six inches long and kills Tarantulas!
If one of those flew in my bedroom window, I'd scream like a little girl!

I don't have a problem with an insects (I am fascinated by them) except for wasps. I am utterly and illogically terrified of them. I have never been stung, I am just very afraid of them. Even dead ones make my heart race. I can't go anywhere near them.

OI you leave them alone, they are creatures too.
I'm scared of the ones that jump, crickets etc because they are unpredictable, but I definitely do not hate any of them.
I used to be so scared of spiders. One nearly touched me one day and I just about threw up, I like spiders now.

isects are only gross because of their appearance, their unpredictability, and their overall creepiness! i hate fleas and ticks and spiders, and ROACHES

House centipedes are the WORST. Almost anything else is alright as long as it isn't crawling on me!
