I have a H-dila 720p television set which I do not intend to upgrade to 1080. However I want to upgrade my dvd player and am wondering if anyone has recoomendations of what to buy and why?

    If it were me I would just go with an upscaling DVD. This will take your older DVD's and upscale them to the best picture you can get. However, this will not make them HD, only make the picture better.

    The same can be said for the Blue Ray player. It will not convert to real HD, but it will upconvert your DVD player to "HD looking" quality like an upscale DVD player.

    The only dif between the two is the price.

    upscaling DVD player - $85.00

    Blue Ray - $600

    Get a Blue Ray dvd player. Or you could get a Ps3 it plays Blue Ray and converts old dvds to HD.
