My God don't tell the poor kid to train 6 days a week if he wants to gain!
Do 3 quality weight sessions a week at most. Don't do any kind of cardio work or anything extra that burns calories. Don't even walk around unless you have to.
Eat massively. Keep a food log and get enough protein each day.
Eating should be your number one priority. If you aren't eating enough, you won't gain, no matter how hard you try in the gym.

Work with weights 6 days a week. For one month work heavy weight and low reps, also switch off from barbells to dumbbells. The next month move to light weight and high reps. Remember to work muscle groups: chest and tris one day, back and bis the next, legs and shoulders and then start over. Rest 1 day and then start all over again. If you are going to do any cardio, swim. It will work all your muscle groups while being a great cardio work out. Don't forget to eat a lot of protein while doing this.

PROTEIN. Eggs, spinich, cheese, milk, chicken, lean-cut pork, tofu (if you like it) --- Anything that is protein-rich will help you gain muscle mass; Our muscles are made up primarily of protein so the best thing to do is eat CARBS right before a work-out (to maintain your caloric energy) and PROTEIN afterward (to rebuild your muscles).
