Hi...I think that you would enjoy Long Island very much...the south shore has the ocean and beautiful beaches like Jones Beach (where you can catch a concert at it's beautiful outdoor concert right on the water). The North shore has tons of cute, quaint towns from Huntington and going east to Port Jefferson, Sag Harbor, Southampton and Greenport. Take a day trip out to The Hamptons, but don't spend the night there. Finally there is Montauk Point and Lighthouse, a must for anyone visiting Long Island. Accomodations run from inexpensive Holiday Inn types to really Ritzy hotels. I suggest you check online for nice B & B's as well.
I hope this helps...have a great summer!

Mexico, preferably the resorts of Cozumel and Cancun. They can be as luxurious as the Caribbean but is almost always cheaper. Go there during the summer preferably early summer or late summer to avoid the tourist rush.
