Mexico Bound...?
I really need some imput from real people about these resorts in Mexico. I am planning a trip to Cosumel, considering the Park Royal. Does anyone have an opinion on this particular Resort? Which is better Cozumel or Cancun? I thought Cozumel may be a bit classier???

I LOVE Cozumel. I have not ever been to Cancun, but I have stayed in Playa del Carmen. I much prefer Cozumel. It is a very low key island, also very safe. I've travelled there many time on girls only trips and always felt safe. The diving is world class with many good dive shops, and the snorkeling is good for non-divers. The island has many sights to see and many good restuarants.
I can't speak personally to Park Royal, but it certainly looks very nice. I've personally stayed at the Melia, the Allegro, the Villablanca, Hotel Cozumel (back when it was Fiesta Inn), and Casa Del Mar. The Allegro has the best beach of any resort...white sand - however, it is south of town a pretty good ways - about $20 USD for a taxi to town. Alot of the beach in Coz is ironshore, so many beaches are manmade and some are better than others.

I find Cozumel much more laid back and safer. We always stay at the Reef Club. Located at Carretera Costera Sur Km 12.9, Cozumel, Quintana Roo 77600
Mexico http://www.reefclubcozumel.com/

On line the Reef Club is rated 3 stars, but it seems like a 5 star resort to me. They treat everyone like royalty.
No matter where you stay make sure you do the all inclusive and all the food and drinks are free.
The scuba and snorkeling on Cozumel is also terrific. Make sure you go to the Chaukanaub National Park. Its great for snorkeling. And its really beautiful.
Good luck where ever you go. I'm not familiar with the Park Royal.
