Did you know that Turkey might invade Iraq?

And here's the kicker...

It's to stop terrorists from attacking thier country. And the Bush Adminisration opposes them! Whatever happened to the doctrine of pre-emption. Why isn't the Bush Administration supporting Turkey in their fight against terrorism?

the connection between turkey invading northern iraq and being hostile to european countries is not vary clear cut. i don't think turkey would plan on attacking coalition forces or anything. turkey would just be destabilizing the political efforts in iraq in regards to a unified country, contrary to some interests in europe.

i don't think there are many coalition forces in the northern area of iraq, and you could expect turkey to attack only areas without those forces because it would be a total disaster for turkey to accidentally injure an american soldier. all bridges, transformer stations, airports and major roads to be destroyed over night...well not really, but the americans would have a whole lot to say about it anyway.

This is not true. They want to invade Iraq so that the Kurds cant get their own country, because it that were to happen they would want part of Turkey to form it. The part of Turkey that borders Iraq is all Kurds. The Kurds are the largest national group in the world WITHOUT their own country. Also, when Bush #1 said he would help them, they rebeled against Saddam, and then Bush let Saddam kill them without helping. The Kurds also were the only national group in Iraq to HELP the American invasion wholeheartedly. Turkey is only out for its own interests, like the USA. It using Terrorism as an excuse... like the USA.

This is a perfect example of where the USA needs to mind its own business. The Turks treat the Kurds little better than they treated the Armenians. They call the Kurds terrorists but from another viewpoint the Kurds could be called Rebels sticking up for their human rights and taking a stand against years of Turkish bullying.

Why are you so happy about this turn of events?

And who says the Bush Administration isn't supporting Turkey? Merely because we aren't backing Turkey on-the-surface doesn't mean it isn't happening under-the-table. Don't you know anything at all about espionage and international diplomacy?

Because Turkey has no money, no power, and no OIL. The Bush administration is only concerned with having friends in "high" places.

Because Turkey might take some oil that rightfully belongs to republicans.

They have been threatening to do that all along. They have repressed the Kurdish long enough maybe they should let them have their own country.
