What is wrong with people?

I dont know which section this should be in, but, i just wanted to ask, is it just me or does this seem wrong? I have been playing some stupid game on the computer, "soda pipes", and my scores were high enough so that my gf's son (14)couldnt get his name on the top ten. His solution, which she did later, was to reset the scores so he could get on it. What on earth does that teach a kid? When i was a kid I wouldnt even want to be patronized that way, now they think it is their rights. I dont know if he learned it from her, or in school, but it seems like a really poor way to get thru life, and i see it all the time in the lack of pride and ambition people have.

Update:

its not my high score that i worry about, its the attitude that resetting it and settling for a lower score would mean anything. Its a form of cheating, and not even very good cheating.

I agree. They should have to learn to earn things on their own.

Sounds to me like we have become an over causes society, if a kid doesn't make the team, we have hurt him in some way!

When I was a kid, you just learned that there was room for IMPROVEMENT! Not everyone can be perfect at everything all the time! I am so sick of this coddling these kids. There is nothing wrong in telling a child NO, its not going to hurt them.

There is a great song by Bucky Covington, the guys name makes me laugh, it talks about how you went out to play with your friends, there were no video games, we drank from a water hose ... NOT EVERYONE MADE THE TEAM AND WE EXCEPTED IT!

Source(s): People have forgotten the FUN of the game... its only a game, your NOT playing for your life!

People also have to have the ability to reach a reasonable goal. If the scores you got were so high he could not reasonably reach it, what is wrong with clearing it so that he can try and get onto the high score and feel some pride?

I totally agree! People, ecspecially youth, seem to think they can get through life easily by basically being rude or trying to act older than they really are. I've seen that everywhere and it is really sad that they can't just be regualr kids

all kids that age try to buck or get around the system . If he's 14 , He's just trying things out and and if it got a rise out of you , he's probably laughing , He's immature , let it go ...

    He'll learn if he's raised right .
