When is the best time to have sex whilst TTC on Clomid/Metformin, serious answers only please!?

If you're not doing monitored cycles (where an ultrasound is used to determine your follicular development, and when you ovulate) then ovulation predictor kits will help you figure out when you're ovulating. "Around the 14th" is only useful if you've got a cycle that is about 28 days. If your cycle is longer or shorter, you may miss your ovulation window. Ovulation, for most people, occurs between ten and sixteen days before menstruation, even on clomid. It can lengthen the luteal phase, for someone whose luteal phase is typically short, and it may alter the length of the mensrual cycle.

We can't tell you what your cycle is going to be like on Clomid anymore than we can tell you what it might be like in other situations. I know my doctor, when he prescribed Clomid for me said that instead of my typical cycle, which is about 34 days, that I may have a cycle closer to 28 days, but that I needed to use OPKs to make sure that we timed sex correctly to maximize the chance of conception.

I'm not sure what Metformin is but I am on Clomid and I have to go to hosp for an internal scan to see if there are any mature follicles (would be eggs) and if there are less than 4, I have an injection to release them. You should make love every other day around this time. This could be from day 12 to day 17. Not every day as this reduces sperm quality/quantity, apparently. It is useful to take ovulation tests. I find that they show I am fertile for 4 days, which seems a bit odd. Everyone seems different though. Good luck to you.

I took clomid for two months and ended up pregnant. I have PCOS and was taking Metformin while on the clomid. My doctor told me to try and determine my ovulation date that way I would be able to conceive easier. Not everyone ovulates at the same time frame. I ovulated the 19th day of my cycle. I used the BBT method along with ovulation predictor kits. They are accurate, and i also highly recommend a product called Pre-seed, this is a sperm friendly lubricant, which is good cause clomid can make you dry. I bought mine off of eBay, but you can get it at amazon.

I got pregnant after my 3rd attempt of clomid.

I used ovulation strips to determine when I was ovulating. Try to have regular sex, about 3 times a week. Dont try to use the "egg white mucous" test, as clomid can dry up mucous. Good luck!!

I bet you have endometriosis. That was one of the first things I noticed before I was diganosed. I don't have the web site handy with me. So just type 'symptoms of endometriosis' into the google search engine and take a look. *** UPDATE***: To the asker, once you have looked up the endometriosis, let us know by posting back on this question, I think that's what it's really going to be. I have been dealing with it for years.
