Has anyone had a "Violation Notice"?

How are you supposed to know which "Community Guideline" or "Terms of Service" that you voilated? They never tell you, and there are so many of them. Does anyone know?

Yes. Whenever you receive a violation notice just respond back to the email address provided with the Q&A and your reasoning on why it doesn't violate community guidelines (http://answers.yahoo.com/info/community_guidelines... ) or just ask why you received the notice. Then post the same on the Wrongful Violations board at http://messages.answers.yahoo.com/answers/forumvie... .

I received my points back with an apology notice after two weeks. That's all you can do. No one else can really help besides the Yahoo! Answers Community Care people.

The best thing to do is to have an account used exclusively for Y/A and no other Yahoo service. Use a separate account for the other Yahoo services. If the Y/A one gets deleted, less sadness is involved.

UPDATE: In other words, it's a violation to use two separate Yahoo accounts in Y/A. You can have as many Yahoo accounts as you want, but you can only use ONE of them in Y/A. I suggest that the ONE you use for Y/A is used exclusively for Y/A, so that it doesn't affect your other Yahoo services.

    Good luck!

Yes. The problem is that they do not tell you the reason why you got a voilation so if you wanted to correct the problem you made you could not because you have no idea what the violation was.

Yeah... they told me which rule I violated the first time (Not a Question or an Answer), but they didn't tell me the second time, so I wrote back, asking why I got the Violation Notice. About 4 days later, I got a response in which they apologized for any inconveniences, and I got my points back. If you think you were given a violation notice when you didn't do anything or if you have questions about your violation, respond to your Violation Notice e-mail and ask them/tell why you think you were undeserving of the violation.

EVERYONE has had one, sooner or later!

You should have gotten an email and it should tell you what the reason was, but often they go to your SPAM/BULK folder or just say a generic "violation" with no real reason, sorry.

If you feel you have been improperly "violated", post your concerns to this forum:

    http://messages.answers.yahoo.com/answers/forumvie...

where they are attempting to post a response (to the forum) within 48 hours and to send such things for reconsideration. Points HAVE been returned, as reported on here:

On the Yahoo Answers homepage, there is a link to the community guidelines. Sometimes it's big and at the top, but it's always a small link on the bottom of the page.

My same sentiments. Instead of that general letter let me know specifically what I did wrong. I use to do the Answers Forum but now I don't hear anything from them.
