Could Northeast Ohio support a Nextal Cup track?
Would it be profitable or even desired to build a track somewhere near Cleveland? Akron, perhaps. In between, or down the road? I would love to see it, being from Cleveland. And I think it would draw great crowds, like near by tracks like Michigan and Pococno. Would anybody here support it? What kind of track would you like to see?

this is a odd question maybe they could support it but it will NEVER happen the polititans in ohio have proven over the last 30 years they dont support sports teams or there facilities
LOOK AT OLD MAYOR MICHEAL WHITE had enough funding to build a 80000 seat multi use domed arena for football and baseball and he said screw the browns and built a 42000 seat baseball stadium and a basket ball arena next door the browns got left in a 60 plus year old stadium and left for baltimore

NASCAR's Fan base is huge now; and runs coast to coast. I definately think a track near Cleveland would be very profitable and draw a huge crowd.
You asked what kind of track should it be if they had one; and many Fans will give you alot of different ideas of what kind of track it should be.
I personally would love to see another Road Course on the schedule. Every other type of track is represented at least four times during the season (example: short-track you have Bristol and Martinsville with two race each or Superspeedways like Daytona and Talledega each with 2 races) NASCAR only goes Road Racing twice a year; I would very much like to see two more road races with one being in the Chase.
Every type of track is represented in the Chase except Road. I think to properly crown a Champion he must prove himself on every type of track.

There are plenty of tracks all over the south east and Midwest. Building another will just take fans from other tracks not bring in new ones. Ohio is close to MIS, Indy, Bristol, Martinsville, and Richmond. If there are places to build a track its the Northeast and Northwest. Neither seems to want it there and I would hate to see a old track lose a race to another 1.5 mile quad oval.

I think it could lead to oversaturation in this area. As far as I'm concerned, there are now plenty of tracks - and it seems now with each new track built, an 'oldy but goody' is closed or at least loses one of its two dates. And too, not only is Pocono and MIS nearby (actually, MIS is less than an hour from me in NW Ohio) - you've also got in the general area Bristol, go a bit west and you've got Indy and Chicagoland, spread out a bit more and Nashville on the other side of the state from Bristol (yes, I know that's just a Busch track), Charlotte, Rockingham and Darlington in the Carolinas, Richmond and Martinsville in VA as well Dover and New Hampshire further up the coast (and Watkins Glen)...
No...one more track on the eastern side of the U.S. is really not necessary.

I live in that area and pray that they would never do a silly thing like that. There are enough tracks already.
You living in Ohio if you really do know that we don't have that long of a drive to the tracks you mentioned and you left out Indy and Chicago land. You can't be serious.
To your second nightmare question: ahhhh let me guess a cookie cutter track like all the new one are now that will pack 180,000 and have no character.
Bad idea

Heck yeah! Richfield has some land to build a new track. Bring it on. I would love to see another high-banked short track (like Bristol) added to the schedule. Ohio has proven that they support racing. Look at the attendance at tracks like Eldora, Attica, and Mansfield ( to name a few). Cleveland has some of the best sports fans in the world.

I'm all for spreading NASCAR throughout the country. It is, right now, mainly based in the South, which is fitting, but I think it should spread. The only problem is, NASCAR runs a rigid schedule that is set years in advance. So for them to add another track, they must either drop a current race track, or add another race to the season. Neither is likely. But, hopefully one day you will see a track near you.

I think its great. Ohio needs a track like that, it would be soo great, there are not enough adjectives for it. I would go there every race, it gets hard for Ohio people to go state to state to see these guys race...am going to eldroa, but not the same thin ya know...Would love to see1 mile oval with some banking, but not too steep.

Not likely. I live in Marion and Mansfield's Truck race is gonna have to do. It's only 40 miles from my home.
