Has anyone ever heard of nerve damage from smoking both weed and cigarettes?

My husband has had a rash on his legs since November. One Doctor said it was scabies so that's what he was treated for. With no results. He still has the sores on his legs and is still itchy and scratching all the time. He finally went to a skin specialist today and was told it was nerve damage due to smoking, he smokes weed daily and cigarettes and was told to quit. (hooray) I've never heard of smoking causeing nerve damage and can't find much when I google it either. Anyone ever experience this personally or know anyone who has gone through the same thing? The doctor didn't give him a name for this condition which makes it harded for me to look up. I know smoking can clog your arteries etc but never heard of this before. Any answers will be much appreciated.

There is a correlation! All tissues of the body are dependent on the delivery of oxygen and nutrients dissolved in the blood that circulates within the blood vessels. Nerves are included. Therefore, any factor that affects adequate circulation of blood to deliver the substances to keep the tissues healthy will compromise the said tissue causing it to get diseased, damaged or die.

Cigarettes occlude blood vessels and will affect circulation of blood to the areas concerned.

Scare ur husband or disease like lung cancer, stroke and heart attack will scare him in the near future

Both smoking Baccie and Mary Jane calms the nerves so done in excess it could have an detrimental effect on them. But on the legs only? Does he wear shorts a lot? has he been in long grass lately? Might be an allergy. Buy some Piriton 5mg ( chlorophenamine) from the Pharmacist. Dose him with those and if it is an allergic reaction they should help. I have hayfever and take about 60mg a day. When I was working my hands all swollen up and we found out I was allergic to polishing soap. I had to push it up to 100mg daily to get rid of the inflammation and itching. Beside probably make him tired they will not do him harm and may work.

I've never heard that or found anything on it either. Could just be a way for the doc to get your husband to stop smoking. I just don't see the correlation between the two.

nerve damage, brain damage is all the same just different terms.

weed and cigarettes are both harmful and to the lungs

my uncle died of lung being congested which they put tubes to reduce the congestion but it weakened him which then once removing the tubes for him to breath on his own he only lasted two days and died.
