NO, anything you do to your hair can damage it, whether it be heat, dye, perm or straighten even brushing your hair can damage it. If you use conditioners and certain hair products they can protect you rhair and help restore damage but nothing can eliminate it completly. Sorry...of course companies will tell you their products don't damage your hair, that is how they sell you products with false hope.

All sources of heat applied to your hair can cause damage, But yes. Ceramic ones cause Less damage than metal. Ceramic ones allow for steam, whereas metal ones do not. I purchased a Paul Mitchel Chi from ebay and it was the best 100 bucks I ever spent. My hair looks amazing after using it. All the professionals at salons use that kind and it really does look great. Yea, all of them say that..and dont ever straighten your hair wet, even if it can do that, it will kill your hair completely.
