There is plenty to do depending on what you are intrestedin.

If you are a fit person, there is always a race goignon one weekend. Go to www.active.com to find them. Sacramento has plenty of great Golf Courses, trails to hike and bike. Water rafting, etc...

If you need entertainment or to shop, then go to one of the 3 malls we have (K street mall, Arden fair Mall, Gallaria in Roseville). Go to one of the two water parks (Sun Splash is the best). Go to the fair at the end of August if you are in town. Midtown has some great bars and restaurants, just head down J street.

Plenty to do, just depends on what you like.

Ok, there are several places to go for fantastic food- check out the K Street Mall or the Arden Fair Mall, if you like to shop, a big bike and hike trail, River Cats baseball is really popular, I believe the Sacramento Women's Basketball team is playing. . . Check out the Capitol building (beautiful), the zoo is small, but interesting, Old Sacramento has a train museum, river boats, cool little shops and so on. . . I hear the clubs are great as well. . . So good luck and have fun

    Hi Caligirl,

I live in Sacramento, and have my whole life.

There is lots to do; it just depends on what you like. If you are athletic, there are the American River bike trials to jog, bicycle, or walk. Currently the Monarchs are playing (professional womens basketball) at Arco Arena. If you are into more art stuff, there are lots of small galleries to visit in Downtown or Del Paso Blvd. If you want to do the total tourist stuff, go to Fanny Anns in Old Sac for a beer or soda and a burger. We have lots of places to go like Hardrock Cafe, and upscale bars, etc. We also have quite a few places to see movies, play minerature golf, go watersliding, etc.

Mostly we don't tip cows here, and I have never smelled of onions, so big raspberries to the people who say otherwise :-)

What we do have is lots of nice people (and some not so nice) who are usually very happy to give directions or suggestions to people visiting.

    Have a great trip!

This time of 365 days Sacramento can get style of lifeless. the components isn't very conducive for outdoors form activities. except of course you're into wintry climate activities. Then if so the a number of maximum suitable snowboarding and snowboarding in the international is under 2 hours away. in the spring and summer season issues start to warmth up, in greater techniques than one. a nicely-liked interest is to raft down the yank River. it fairly is super exciting and that they have got been working no longer difficulty-free the previous couple of years to make it a greater relatives friendly interest. If rides are your element Discovery Kingdom down in Vallejo is a Six Flags sources and is maximum suitable enjoyed in warmer climate. they have animals and rides. additionally Paramount's super united statesa. is in Santa Clara a 2 hour or sochronic sturdy rides there. yet another interest I and a lot of of my pals appreciate are the gala's, there are a number of county gala's interior of in an hour or lesschronic from Sacramento, and you get all of it there rides and super straight forward foodstuff. in case you haven't any longer burned out on gala's with the aid of the tip of summer season, then the final 3 weeks of August is the California State straight forward. it fairly is huge. the main important halfway west of the Mississippi. have exciting

I'm from the Ol' Sac area and pretty much the only thing I wanted to do was go out to eat at The Old Spaghetti Factory. I lived in Placerville so I was always white water rafting on the American river and taking little day trips to the Sierra Nevada Mountains hiking and biking up Horsetail Falls. Cameron Park Lake was another summer favorite. There's stuff to do, you just have to look. Since your aunt lives there just ask her what she wants to do with you. Have fun on your visit.

For all you who said Sacramento is boring and there is not much to do, GET A LIFE! You are in an amazing city. There are shows going on everyday somewhere in Sacramento for music, art, theatre and dance. There are lectures at UC Davis and CSUS, a bazillion movie theatres, glow bowling, drum and bass clubs, lounges, not to mention the miles of bike trails along the river.

Now that the children have had their say...

Depends what you like to do.

    There's a lot.

Clubs, concerts, museums, Old Sacramento, river rafting, nudist resort, baseball, NBA, car culture, outdoor sports galore. The State Fair in the last two weeks of August.

Lots of good restaurants and shopping.

You're close to skiiing, camping, hiking, the Pacific, beaches, wineries all over the place.

You gotta be a very dull person, not to find something to do in Sacramento.

I have to agree with the others that there is not much to do in Sacramento. What do you like to do?

    Here are some ideas:

    Arden Mall

    Golfland

    Water World (water park)

    IMAX Theater

Sac town is a nice place, however there is nothing to do there. It's not in the desert, however there is little charm or beauty to the area. Prepare to be bored.

Talk her into taking a trip to San Francisco while you are there. It's only a two hour drive away and it's one of the great cities of the world. Plenty to do and see, you will have a blast there.
