The 1 % Doctrine?

The Bush administration has what is called the 1% doctrine. If they hear of a terror threat, and judge that it has a 1% chance of being legitimate, then they take all precautions. Fine. If man-made Global Warming has a 1% chance of being a real threat, shouldn't we take precautions?

That is the logic of all major re-insurance company having assessed the risks of global warming versus cost of mitigation:

    LLYOD

    MUENCHEN RUECK

And believe me, they know what they do and want to protect their millions.

If you are a global company and want to go on earning money, you want a world with prosperous outlooks, not economical collapse from environmental devastation

You gotta look at the flow of special interest money when you hear these talking points (eg: 1% doctrine).

If the climate change folks were making heavy donations to Bush, then yes, he would have a 1% doctrine on climate change as well.

Anything has a chance, which the 1% chance is stupid because it is 100% exploitable. There is a 1% chance that Bush is a terrorist, that the world will end tomorrow, that Iran and the U.S. will buddies in one hour etc..
