After I move and register to vote, I will no longer be an official Republican. I am considering forming a new third party on the internet that goes back to Washington roots, the new Federalist Party. I am working on it.

  • Can't run Quicken because of Com error?

I cannot run my Quicken 2008 version with my Windows XP. I keep getting a program Crash and Com Error which shuts down the progam. this is all I am getting. Quicken says it is a problem with the system. Microsoft is VERY slow to answer questions about this. I still haven't gotten one. I have reinstalled and cleared out my hard drive of any Quicken files and still have the same problem. I am out of ideas. I cannot find anything on just a Com error, as there is no number. Anyone know what the problem is (besides the user).

  • Do we need a Revolution?

Let's see we got a war without end - the war on terror.

We got a national debt unlike anything seen before in all of history.

We are entering a scientific age and we have a large segment of society that does not believe in evolution.

We got the largest private debt in the history of the world.

We got a trade policy which is for free trade but we are the only nation in the world playing by that rule. The rest are out to screw us.

We have an emerging Social Security fiscal crisis.

We have an emerging healthcare crisis.

We cannot provide out own energy needs.

We have a segment of the population that believes America is special and the rules of history do not apply to us, ignoring the examples of Rome, Spain, The Netherlands, France, Britain, and China, who all felt the same at one point in their history only to fall.

We have political leadership that would rather argue about social issues.

Should we throw all incumbants out? Revolution '08!!!

Considering President Bush does not drink, would you be more inclined to vote for someone who occassionally had a few beers?

  • To the Jewish World Domination Conspiracy theorists?

I have got to know. If the Jews control the world, or oil, or whatever, then why are they in Israel? I mean the Muslims are constantly fire rockets and threatening them with death and sometimes succeding. If the Jew really did control the world wouldn't they be someplace safe, like Hawaii, or New Zealand, or Omaha, Nebraska, and control the world fate from the shadows there?

I mean Saddam was smart enough not to stay in the same place two nights in a row, wouldn't the Jews, being so smart and controlling everything, be somewhere else?

Or is this question too logical.

  • If Congress Diappears?

What procedures should be in place if the terrorists are successful next time and wipe out the entire Congress?

Remember this could happen in an Obama Administration too. I am looking for ideas.

What I want to know is what actions should the states and Federal government take in such a situation as the Presiednt is now the lone power. Having just read The Broken Branch by Thomas E. Mann and Norman J. Ornstein, I was a little disturbed that there is no plan and worse, election officials cannot even forsee holding an election until they have had over 75 days to plan it. The English can do one in a month and we can't hold a quick one in two?

  • The 1 % Doctrine?

The Bush administration has what is called the 1% doctrine. If they hear of a terror threat, and judge that it has a 1% chance of being legitimate, then they take all precautions. Fine. If man-made Global Warming has a 1% chance of being a real threat, shouldn't we take precautions?

  • What about these election reforms?

We move election day to the first weekend in November. Giving people 48 hours to vote.

We reform the Electoral College so that the winner of each Congressional District gets 1 electoral vote. The winner of the state gets the final 2 from the state.

Lastly, if you do not vote in a Fedral election, you cannot write off anything on your taxes until the next election (there will be a few exeptions but not for the healthy and able bodied). No mortgage interest write off, no child writie off, nothing. If in a married couple, and only one votes, thenonly half can be written off.

    Just brainstorming....

  • Do you agree with the way this polling came out? What order would you put them in?

    Lewinsky and Kaczynski

The Washington Post runs a weekly contest in its Style section called the

"Style Invitational." The requirements this week were to use the two words

'Lewinsky' (the Intern) and 'Kaczynski' (the Unabomber) in the same

limerick. Now, remember, the following winning entries were actually

printed verbatim in the newspaper, no bleeps or xxxs:

    Third place:

There once was a girl named Lewinsky

Who played on a flute like Stravinsky

    'Twas "Hail to the Chief"

On this flute made of beef

That stole the front page from Kaczynski.

    Second place:

Said Clinton to young Ms. Lewinsky,

"We don't want to leave clues like Kaczynski,

Since you made such a mess,

Use the hem of your dress

And please wipe that stuff off your

    chinsky."

    And the winning entry:

    Lewinsky and Clinton have shown

What Kaczynski must surely have known,

    That an intern is better

Than a bomb in a letter,

When deciding how best to be blown

  • Whatever happend to rational thought?

Having hung out in the political area for a few days I notice everything is insults and pure emotional drivel, from both sides. If the Constituion were written today, we would have far less freedoms because people's emotions to protect certain things and have compassion for, and impose proper beliefs would make our constituion an 1,000 page document that would be so restrictive that there would be no freedom.

Liberals, yes war is evil, but what happens if we leave?

Conservatives, you say you love this country, yet you do not want a national energy policy that moves us off oil. Market forces are not always the best for National Security.

Lately, and I hate to say this, the only people who make sense to me are the Ron Paul supporters. I see libertarians as pro-drugs and pro-guns, a nice mix, which I cannot accept, but am getting there.

  • Do people realize that in the funding for Iraq and a good portion of it is combat pay for the soldiers?

Do Democrats not want these people (who according to them had few other options in life) getting extra cash - which is tax free- for risking everything. Cut the funding and the Democrats make a political mistake in winning over the military.

An intelligent political move by the Democrats would be to give Bush what he wants, and keep this HIS war, by doing so they can continue to blame him and win the WH Senate and House of Reps.

  • Can the ACLU be considered a fundamentalist organization?

They are like other fundamentalist groups in that they read the constitution literally, without any grey area.
