My husbands family is from india and i have been to quite a few indian weddings and ceremonies. I never see anyone recieve gifts besides money and jewelry. Also, they never give an even amount of money, its always like 21 or 51 dollars. I guess that may be just the gujurati indians, I dont know if they all do that or not. I do know that money and jewelry are very typical indian gifts. Oh, and it is kind of fun to dress up in the indian saris and cholis. Have fun!
