Do you know of anyone in the US that met a Muslim online then married them?
I know someone that met a much younger Muslim man online and has chatted with him for a 18 months....he "fell in love with her" right away and ask her to marry him. She went to Egypt and married him and stayed with him for a month or so, then returned to the US. His plans are to come to the US as soon as he is allowed. How long will that take? Does anyone have a similar situation they know of and did that relationship last? Is there any stories/news online that you know of about this sort of thing being popular and how it turns out? I'm thinking he just wants in the US. He is young and handsome.....she is older and very large with front teeth missing.......I'm skeptical, she isnt.

I met and married a Muslim man that I first chatted with online. We have been happily married for 11 1/2 years and I have a wonderful family. It may be that he is only looking for a green card, but one can never know anothers intentions. I'm not missing any front teeth, but I am a BBW, and my husband never complains. I also didn't go to another country to marry him, he was already in the US, but was illegal. I drove from Indiana to Texas to meet him back when I was in college, and I never looked back. We met face to face at the end of April and married two weeks later. He is the one that is older though, but that doesn't always matter.
The only caution I would give is that if you are going to marry a Muslim man, be prepared to convert to Islam. Otherwise, your marriage will be a very difficult one and probably will not work. I converted to Islam before I married my husband, and I converted because it is something that I wanted to do. Islam is a beautiful and wonderful religion when you truly want to learn and understand Islam. I have known a few couples where the man was Muslim and the lady was not, and all ended in divorce.
She also has to be patient. There will be cultural conflicts that will arise, but with communication a common ground can be found and both individuals will be better people in the end. One blessing that I have enjoyed is that we have been able to take the good things from each of our cultures and leave the bad behind, and I think it has made my daughter a better person than I was at her age.
