Why does my hamster have blood in his urine?

I noticed that my hamster appeared to have blood in his urine. What causes that, and what can I do to treat it? He eats NutriPhase and the occasional carrot, broccoli piece and yogurt drop. He drinks frequently, and he's about 18 months old.

The only real answer anyone can give is seek a proffessional opinion, so take him to the vets on Monday.

It is possible that he has a water infection, and is irritating him, so a vet should give you antibiotics to give him. good luck

Mmmmmm, that's not a good sign for any animal. i'm not all too familiar with hamsters, but I would take it to the vet as soon as possible.

My first guess would be that he has an infection. Call the vet's office and see what you need to do for him. Good luck!

He might have a urinary tract infection. I am no expert though. I would call the vet and ask them.
