In the first place I answer in the category Environment ,not Global warming so my direction is to the Environment as a whole

What I wrote is titled MANMADE CLIMATE CHANGE,Not Global warming ,I leave that to Trevor or Bob and many others who are far more qualified to comment on that.

I am not a scientist and never have pretended to be ,but as you say a Layman,and can only go by what i have seen myself ,in the 30+ years i have been in Africa and Mexico,And from discussions of other people who have been in the field in other places.

For 20 of those years I never read a news paper or saw the news.So have not been influenced by politics ,neither do I get paid by anyone for my views

Apart from Permaculture I do not belong to any organisation so for what would I be spamming.

Permaculture is not a comercial concept.

Answers get repeated because so many questions are ,its hard to remain original with thousands of similar questions.

Because almost nobody mentions the destruction caused by Agriculture ,deforrestation . I felt it needed to be highlighted.

And say that APART from mankinds contribution to GLOBAL WARMING with carbon emissions and polution of civilisation ,

Humanity is ALSO responsible for countless local climate changes because of expanding populations(replacing forests for concrete and tar),Agriculture,War and mono cultures that replace Natural forests .

Desertification tends to follow in the paths.And there are more deserts today than ever before .

If you want proof you wont get it in your apartment start traveling around the world .Or play with Google Earth.

You blended my argument with Global warming ,I clearly stated that apart from all this Global warming is also happening

But there are so many of these situations that it HAS to have an effect on the whole .And so at the end of the day we can say that people collectively are changing the climate in many ways and what i mention is one of them.

All of this has resulted in the exstinction of thousands of species of flora and fauna because of changes or loss of habitats.Of the earth's estimated 10 million species, 300,000 have vanished in the past 50 years. each years, 3,000 to 30,000 species become extinct.

And now America plans to destroy vast teritories .for the production of Ethanol

Which also involves a lot of carbon emisions

But many people do not wish to hear this kind of bad news and prefer to shoot the messenger

Surely anyone who is a friend of this Planet would be concerned

We dont say these things for personal gain.But try to help Nature ,on which the quality of all of our lives depends.

As far as stopping Global warming is concerned

People cannot even get it together in one town,Can you see the whole world co operating on anything ,this wont happen even when pigs are flying ,On the contrary many seem ready for War instead.

I can speak for myself, and would then be adding:

The GHG emissions we make ARE changing the environment by increasing the temperature.

As for the ways the climate/environment changes, as the fact that GHG emisssions CAN change the temperature, is shown by facts.

Quite frankly, it seems to me that he knows more than you. You can quote me as a source on that one.

He may make the occasional error in fields of science he is not directly involved in, but the majority of his statements are correct.

Argumentum ad Ignoratum doesn't just mean "Because we can't prove otherwise, it must exist". More like, "there is no use arguing opinion". The Global Warming argument was over in 1999 when the UN stated unequivocally that Global Warming is a reality and caused by human activity, period.

Personally, I don't give a rat's *ss what caused it, I know it exists, I know it is causing radical changes in weather patterns and I know why. I don't need to admit that people are causing it or that Martians are causing it in preparation for invasion. Doesn't matter.

Tell us exactly how you are going to remove CO2 from the atmosphere without burning oil to do it? Our civilization runs on fossil fuels. Any machine built to remove CO2 from the high atmosphere would create CO2 as fast as it removes it.
