Need help with wirelss internet not working properly?

I am connected to a wireless network with excellent signal strength but only Skype will work for me. I can't sign into yahoo messenger or get any web page to load on IE, Firefox or Opera. I am not getting any time out messages, cause it tries to load the pages for like 10mins, or if it loads yahoo.com, it wont then load anything else.

I have no problems using any of those programs when connecting to the net through an ethernet cable, these issues only started when i use the wireless connection

I have used a different laptop wirelessly with this network before with no issues, but this laptop just won't do any of the stuff described above.

any help would be appreciated

You don't have to mess with enabling and disabling your wireless adapter; the repair function does exactly that. If repairing doesn't work, try shutting off various security features. Depending on your operating system, that could be a little difficult. If you're running Windows Vista with it's higher defenses on, it is going to be a lot harder connecting to a network. If Skype is working fine, it's probably a firewall issue. Turn some of the security features off and see if that helps.

Here are a couple of tricks. First one is disable your connection and then enable. Second one is to go to your wireless icon on the bottom and click on repair. Also it may be that your computer is having some difficulty operating so restarting might work as well.

    Hope this helps!

it could be the two a topic with the router or the ISP (Comcast). Upgrading Comcast is costly and that in the time of all probability is not the subject, so I recommend paying for a sparkling instantaneous router (the subject you plug into the modem that hosts the instantaneous sign). Edit: guy below me, whether it incredibly is affecting the two laptop and PS3 then it is not a topic with those products of hardware however the router itself. He additionally stated 'now' which makes me have self belief that it as quickly as worked nice on the two - lower back, not a topic with the two the PS3 or the laptop.
