Should this sex offender be released from prison?

Read this story and decide should this sex offender be released from prison? Did he even deserve to be sent to prison? Should he be on the sex offenders register for the rest of his life?

Who is this judge?? He shouldn't be in there to begin with!! No wonder our jails and prisons are over crowded! I'm not condoning sex among teens, but get real. It's always gonna happen. And the kid is a kid himself..He 17, she 15 and she willingly participated.

If this is the case 3/4 of girls and guys under 18 should all be in jail for doing this very act! This is ridiculous. I bet the judge in this case had a back seat rendezvous when she was a teen and the prosecutor?? I bet he had his willy wetted a few times by a few gals when he was still an adolecence.

This is an out rage and people should be mad about this!! Period.

Should they be released after serving their term? Think that through. If they are given a 'term', then that is the sentence. You may argue that the 'term' should be longer, but once a sentence is made, it stands. No, the death penalty is NOT an appropriate sentence for sex offenders. So we kill a 17 yr old because he had consensual sex with his 16 yr old girlfriend? Or we kill one of the MANY men who were falsely accused of rape because the woman had second thoughts? Or those who were accused and convicted because the woman was judged too drunk to consent? Or the guy who made the mistake of assuming the woman he met in the bar was of age? How about the uncle or dad who was accused after a psychologist 'convinced' a child that something wrong had taken place, or because a vindictive mother chose that way to 'get back' at her ex. ALL of those situations occur hundreds of times each year I'm not saying any of these guys should necessarily get off scott free (except the false accusations), nor am I saying that they represent more than a tiny percentage of total sex charges, but DEATH is not the answer. Sex offenses are too often simply a case of he said/she said. FAR too unclear to impose a death penalty. BTW, I have to speak to the often claimed wive's tale that recidivism among sex offenders is 'close to 100%' There is NO study which shows that, it's an urban myth. SOME categories of sex offense (violent rape, for example) DO have relatively high rates of recidivism, but even those are less than 50%. Other categories (such as close in age statutory rape) have virtually NO repeats. Even child molestation is very low. The reason for that is simple: most child molestation occurs within the family, and the opportunity never recurs due to family knowing the history and often shunning the offender. So that argument is false as well.

If the story is complete, and there isn't anything else to it, then it doesn't even appear that he committed a crime. I believe he should be released from prison and taken off the sex offender list. I feel sorry for him. His life is totally on hold for doing something that most teenagers do. It really makes you wonder what the justice system is doing sometimes....doesn't make me feel confident that the system always works.

Man, this is a terrible day for justice.

This kid was doing nothing different to most kids in the world.

The fact that he went to jail at all does indeed highlight glaring issues within the USA justice system.

Don't think he'll do that again....

I don't think he should be on the sex offenders register for life, i think he has learned his lesson, what he did was wrong though, she was underage ,and he it dealing with the consequences now, i think that is enough.

Sex offenders should never be released. There is no cure and therefore more people will suffer. Registers mean nothing to most people and that is if they can get hold of the said list.

No, he shouldn't be released from prison. There was more going on there than a little oral sex. Why was it video taped? Those girls were being taken advantage of and used by older guys. That's what makes it criminal and that's why he should stay locked up.

This is an example of American law being used for local votes.

Where the court doesn't use common sense.

Thats a bit harsh, considering they changed the law after. The girl was obviously a slapper
