What is your health insurance situation? That's definitely a factor.

Start with: have her explain this to her regular physician. Yes, I know it's uncomfortable, but she has to start somewhere. you cannot do this for her. (you may be able to call the MD, explain the problem and make the appointment, but that's as far as YOU can help her.)

He could possibly prescribe an anti-anxiety drug (which is what she needs to try). If not, he may refer her to a psychological doctor for his/her opinion.

Either way, beginning the process is the hardest part. It'll all flow from there.

Best of luck to you both!

A psychologist or anti-anxiety medication might be of help.

Some other things that help with anxiety attacks are to try to get a decent amount of sleep, about 8 hours if possible, and maintaining a healthy diet. For some individuals, things like caffeine or other food ingredients can cause anxiety, depression, and other problems. Like someone else said, yoga and exercise help with anxiety. Something else that might help is to give her a notebook or journal in which she can write about things that are making her anxious, and get them off her chest. Sometimes that works a bit, but sometimes you don't know what causes the anxiety problems. In my situation, I went to a psychologist for a few months, and over time I guess I just got used to having the anxiety around and realized that it really wasn't that incredibly awful if you just try to remain calm and relaxed, despite feeling panicky or whatever. For me, it just helps if I lay down and listen to music, or if I feel really hyper like I'm going crazy, I try to pace around and walk it off. Best of luck.

My wife had the same problem. There are many drugs on the market but each has its own side effect.Apart from being a loving understanding husband have you thought about taking her to a professional. They will be able to get to the root of the problem.

sounds like your wife needs some serious professional help. there are many relaxation techniques that may assist her as well. an old boyfriend of mine had anxiety attacks and found that deep breathing and putting your self in a "Happy Place" helped. but he was also seeing a dr at the same time. good luck
