What's causing patches of my skin to become discolored and how do I get rid of it!?
The patches are brownish in color (I'm light-skinned). At first glance, they seem to be a build-up of dirt, but when I wash and scrub, it doesn't go away. What is it and how do I get rid of it?

It sounds like it could be Vitiligo. Michael Jackson has it, too, interestingly enough, I was just reading about it. :D however, I think that normally it causes LIGHTER patches of skin.
I'm not perfectly sure, I'm certainly no medical expert. I would check with a doctor, as skin problems like that often can be telling of bigger medical issues.

ask your dermatologist. until your appointment, quit scrubbing since you know it won't wash off.
