Why is it that men get tired immediately after sex?

It was hard work lol.

There are many women out there -- including many right here at iVillage -- who'd give their right arm for an answer to this one. So, here goes. One or more of the following reasons usually account for why a man falls into a post-coital stupor:

They are tired to begin with, and sex helps them relax and let go -- figuratively and literally.

The hormones men and women produce at orgasm can lead to the desire to lay back in the afterglow, and that sense of physical peace often leads to sleep.

The ejaculatory release for men, and the inherent letting down of bodily tension, makes men physically tired.

Most people (again, men and women) hold their breath during sex, breathe shallowly or don't focus on breathing. I'll bet the ranch that he's not breathing deeply. That gives him oxygen deprivation, which causes sleepiness. And, it could (rare, though) persist into the next day.

It's not that they get tired, it's just physiology, and when women don't understand it it can cause problems. Bottom line, once a man does his thing, he has ZERO interest in sex whatsoever. Now, the young guys might be ready to go again fairly soon, but not immediately, and the older are done for the day for the most part. For men, it's a less emotional thing, for women it's largely emotional. Men aren't tired, they are just uninterested afterwards.

I think its because women have many little climaxes before our one big one...hence conserving the energy....

Men on the other hand have just one big "O" and all the life force is pulled out of them...leaving no energy or strength so the body as it cools itself goes to sleep and us women are left there to listen to them snore

it is very simple , usually men do the most job in the sex , we move fast, so we are the one who does the most job , and cumming itself meeds a lot of energy may be you are not doing a physical job i mean you can't see this you just see *** but in fact all the cells in your body work more and faster to make you *** , it affects all your body , may be because men reach orgasm musch faster than wemon so when they are satisfied wemon are still in need , they may become tired like us too but it happens much later than the time we become tired, hun isn't it ? but what ever it is even the rest and being tired after sex is lovely , i love that

You have to learn to let your woman please you too so that you are not the only one putting in the hard yards. Better for her orgasm and better for yours .... my thoughts at least.

BTW... there are thoughts that it is the result of thousands of years of cave dwelling.... so that your female mate can escape from your capture... it's an innate response genetically passed on through the generations from your ancient ancestors... like back hair.

partly yes you'll get tired but not exhausted, women dozed up after orgasm. Maybe you should experience it well first before coming up with a conclusion.

I always feel kind of tired and relaxed after i bust my nut, but maybe thats just me. Whenever i have sex , both me and my girlfriend seem tired, so maybe you should take it slower next time, and don't rush it, enjoy it.

when men ejaculate, all the blood that was there, goes away, really fast, this makes him tiered, it's hard work for him to com for you.
