How to change the default image editor in Corel Draw X3?
Somehow Corel Photo Paint is no longer the default image editor when I right click on an image in Corel Draw and click on "edit bitmap". Now when I click on "edit bitmap" inside Corel Draw it opens the graphic in Microsoft Windows Paint! How can I change it back to Corel Photo Paint?
** Normal Windows file associations have nothing to do with this issue as the file would be an object on the CorelDraw document page. Also, my files are actually associated in Windows with ACDSEE, but Corel is opening them in Windows Paint when I click from within CorelDraw. For sure there is some setting in Corel that is affecting this. However, I have yet to be able to find where I can change this setting.

This generally occurs when the CPT is no more associated with Photopaint. Try this: close other programs and open Photopaint, then go to Tools> Options> Global> Filters> Associate. Check CPT and other files that you want to associate to Photopaint. Close and restart your computer.
If this doesn't work, you should have to reset to default settings, holding down the F8 key while starting Draw, and keeping the key down until you a dialog box shows up asking if you want to reset to factory default settings.
Good luck :)

My suspicion is that the file-type has become associated with Paint.
If you are using XP, the easiest way to change this is to Right click on one of this files and choose the Open With... ->choose a program from a list. Make sure always use this program to open this type of file is checked. Select the program you want to use then clock ok. If this does not fix it, it is most likely that some setting in Corel draw has changed. Since I don't have corel draw, I dont know where you would look to change this if my first suggestion didn't work.

Go to File- Save As, and then save the type as a "JPEG" file.
