Your child may have them confused, I did when I was younger and I still do [I have chronic insomnia but I won't bore you with that haha so that serves as my experiance] but there are deffinately things you can do to help him get back on sceduale. Talk to your pediatrician about it. Certain milks, songs, mental moods, etc. even little things like lighting can help children sleep on time.

He might have them confused and he might have had those patterns since before he was born. But you can change that. Try to keep him awake for a little longer during the day (as much as it is possible for a 1-month-old) and interact with him more during the time he'sawake. Talk to him, carry him around, sing, take him for walks. When night comes, turn off the lights and only leave a small night light in the room. Do not play with him or pick him up much, try to keep everything low key - no noises, no strong lights, do not talk too much, do not pick him up except to feed him, do not entertain him. It will take awhile but you can turn his pattern around. It worked with my daugther and she's been sleeping through the night (with some interruptions for feeding) since she was born.

Try to stretch your baby's waking hours longer during the day after his feed by talking or playing with him, especially near your bed time, I know he don't understand what yr're doing but this might help, he will sleep longer at night, your hubby can help too, play with him more.

In the day leave all curtains open, TV's on and speak as normal. At night switch all lights, TV's off and speak softly. Good luck hope it works
