I became a top contributor and didn't want to be? Is there any way to get rid of this "status"?

According to what I have read, the "Top Contributor" symbol is going to be made an option by the user that may be turned off in your preferences. That would be nice wouldn't it. I am sure people do appreciate the help you give in any category.

I don't think anyone is going to look at you funny for being a top contributor. You could email the help team to get that badge taken off of your avitar.

then it should not bother you that you are a top contributor. Help and ignore the orange bold letters under your aviator

No worries, the badge isn't permanent as long as you stop or lessen what you've been doing.

You should be proud that in areas you are recognised as being good at.

Well you should just be proud that you helped so much that you gained that status and being modest is just a plus.

make your answers not as good and they will stop being chosen Best Answer. You will lose the orange bar

there are NO ways for u to remove it, if u stop answering in that category for a while, it will remove itself
