    This is Easy!

According to the Jehovah's Witness Cult the Watchtower says that the Trinity, the deity of Christ, and the physical resurrection of Christ are all false doctrines. Yet, the Watchtower says that if you read the Bible by itself (without the Watchtower magazine) you will end up believing these doctrines. In other words, if you read the Bible by itself, then you will become a Trinitarian, believe that Jesus is God, and believe that Jesus rose from the dead physically.

In Mormon theology God is not a Trinity but a triad. The doctrine of Trinity is the teaching that there is a single God who exists in three persons: Father, son, and Holy Spirit. There are not three gods, only one. The Trinity doctrine states there is only one God in all the universe, in all dimensions, in all time, and without end. God is eternal and there was never a time when he was not God. He has always been completely and fully God.

A Triad is the teaching that there are three separate gods in one "office" or "position." Mormons often refer to God this way. When they say God, it can mean the Father, whom they call Heavenly Father, or the Godhead rich, to them, is three separate gods in one office. In other words, the Mormon defines the Trinity as a god called the Father (also known as Elohim and Heavenly Father), along with the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost. Mormonism teaches a Triad and not a Trinity.

I've read every answer so far and Rev. Kip has touched a few raw nerves because he knows what's going on here. JWs and Mormons have set up straw men which they then proceed to knock down with ease. I would like to think the best of them, so I assume nearly all of them have never studied the subject apart from their leaders' writings. That would explain why they can be so gullible as to take as gospel truth such piffle as "1 + 1 + 1 = 3, not ONE!" As if that explained spiritual truth! It's a base distortion of what the Trinity doctrine states. Any person who uses that argument proves they have no idea what the Trinity teaches.

The Mormons are more deceptive than the JWs, for they tell Christians that they DO believe the Christian Trinity doctrine. They do not! Their modalism, with three gods, is a travesty of the Christian teaching. Again, those who don't know any better, are happy to accept their assurances.

Both groups have fallen into the spiritual trap of Psalm 50:21 and Romans 1:23 - trying to explain the inscrutable God, and confine Him to the narrow limits of our sinful and small minds. The Bible shows that Jehovah ALONE created, yet Jesus ALSO created. JWs say Jehovah delegated. The Bible disproves that (Heb 1:10, Isa 44:24, 45:12, Gen 20:11). Jehovah rested on the 7th day. Why would he if Jesus did all the work of creating? And Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath! Yes, I can explain the teaching, but there is nowhere near enough space here to do it justice.

Well the trinity is a man made doctrine, it is not found in the bible so as a jehovah's witness i follow teachings that are in the bible. Jehovah, Nor Jesus ever ever said that they were the same person, neither did they say that we should worship both of them. to the contrary, Jesus Christ let us know that we should only Worship Jehovah and not any one else. That leaves no room for any other person to be worshiped. The Trinity did not find a place formally in the theology of the church till the 4th century.

The Encyclopedia of Religion admits: "Theologians today are in agreement that the Hebrew Bible does not contain a doctrine of the Trinity."

The New Catholic Encyclopedia also admits: "The doctrine of the Holy Trinity is not taught in the Old Testament."

The New Catholic Encyclopedia notes: "The formulation 'one god in three Persons' was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century. . . Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective."

These are some of the quotes that even those who choose to "believe" in the trinity know. they know that it was made up yet choose to still follow this belief.

If the belief of the Trinity is true, then why does Jehovah contradicts himself in Deut. 6:4 Listen, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah. HE WOULDNT. THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD Jehovah and his SON Jesus Christ

Mya : I was not always a witness and i did my research and found out that the church i was attending told me that Jesus, God and the holy spirit was the same person one being, yet they couldnt tell me where in the bible it says that. As a JW i ASK and research and everything that i ask is shown to me in the bible, not some "man" telling me so.

WhatIf: no the organization didnt have to tell me that the trinity is pagan for me to know it. i did my own research and i realized that its false worship.

The Trinity doctrine as taught by churches is that God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost are all one, equal. Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe in the trinity because it is not a Bible teaching. The bible teaches, that God,Jehovah, is the Father, Jesus is his SON, and the holy spirit is God's active force. Jesus himself even said at John 14:28 "the Father is greater than I am." And when Jesus was baptized, a voice came from heaven and said " this is my son..." This is not a mystery. The bible is clear. Sadly, Satan has blinded the minds of many.

It's quite difficult to explain an untruth. But here is what dictionary.com says about the word:

a word not found in Scripture, but used to express the doctrine of the unity of God as subsisting in three distinct Persons. This word is derived from the Gr. trias, first used by Theophilus (A.D. 168-183), or from the Lat. trinitas, first used by Tertullian (A.D. 220), to express this doctrine.

    ---

Originally, it was understood to mean that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit were one being - equal in authority. It's a belief that most faiths had adopted.

However, after much scrutiny from non-trinitarians, some religious factions have adjusted their approach in this matter. Some say it's a mystery. Some say that only God knows.

The truth is that the Bible does not teach such a thing. In fact Philippians 2:5 talks about how Jesus never even gave consideration to the idea of being equal to his father. Furthermore, he said time and again that "the father is greater than I am."

So, Jehovah's Witnesses believe what Jesus taught. We pray to the same God/Father that he prayed to. We live our lives following his steps closely as we are advised to do at 1 Peter 2:21.

Ironically, Jehovah's Witnesses can probably explain "the Trinity" better than most seeming trinitarians.

In fact, when a Jehovah's Witness minister speaks with a householder who wishes to discuss "the trinity", it sometimes takes several minutes for the Witness minister to discern which flavor of trinitarianism the householder believes. The philosophical splitting of trinitarian hairs is completely avoided when one simply recognizes the plain bible truth...

Namely... Jehovah is the One Almighty God the Father; there is a separate distinct person well-known as Jesus Christ the Son. Unsurprisingly, God and Christ have similar perfect personalities, and are both unimaginably more powerful and exalted than any other persons.

There are something like eight or ten so-called "trinity proof texts", but there are DOZENS of entire passages which are irreconcilable with the idea that God and Christ are not separate persons. Modern trinitarianism would be beyond risible if someone had not invented a theoretical FOURTH entity called a "godhead" which is supposed to include the three parts called father, son, and spirit. Realistically, however, there is no sound Scriptural support with which trinitarians might reasonably argue for the theoretical existence of an all-inclusive fourth entity.

Trinity is a doctrine where The Father, The Son , The Holy Spirit are all one God. Basically three persons who are all one God.

For Trinitarians, the Father is Jehovah, the Son is Jehovah, the holy Spirit is Jehovah. Since these three persons are unique and different, then they are THREE Jehovah.

The Bible disagrees with the teaching of the Trinity.

Deut 6:4 says there is ONE JEHOVAH. (Jehovah our God is one Jehovah) Not Three.

Deut 6:6 uses the word “I”. The Bible use the terms “I”, “I am” “I only”, to describe God. Those terms are only used for ONE PERSON, and NOT THREE persons and NOT for collective nouns. The word “God” is also NOT a collective noun like “team”.

Jehovah God is one person, not three.

I always remember the time I talked to a Catholic gentleman.

He started out by saying he wasn't interested in any religion that didn't believe in the trinity.

So the brother and I started showing this person a few scriptures concerning Christ.

Every verse the gentleman agreed with our understanding of the verse.

So we asked him what was the Trinity?

He answered 'The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost'

Then we asked, 'they are equal?' 'are they the same God?'

    His answer was 'NO!'

Then we read him what the Catholic Encyclopedia said.

His comment was 'that isn't right, He explained

the trinity to be: 'The Father is God, Jesus is God's Son, and the Holy Ghost is from God.'

My experience is never assume that trinitarians know what they are talking about.

As to explaining it, That is something trinitarians can't do, so how do you expect us to?

Even if ‘Sam’ is a Grandfather, Father, and Son, Sam still has only one will, unless he is mentally disturbed or Sam is three different individuals. Sam Sr., Sam Jr., & Sam III.

The only trinity I've found taught in the bible is:

    Harper’s Bible Dictionary

    Baal / Bel ,

    translates into English as Lord

offspring of El, (Hebrew for God)

worshiped as a triad / trinity.

Where did I hear this teaching recently?

Sounds like a teaching of Satan, What do you think?

    Who is fulfilling this prophecy?

(Jeremiah 23:27) 27 They are thinking of making my people forget my name by means of their dreams that they keep relating each one to the other, just as their fathers forgot my name by means of Ba´al.

The trinity falls into Col 2:8 philosophies of men, empty things of this world.

Most will give you what their organization tells them.

    Beautiful Disaster you quoted

The New Catholic Encyclopedia also admits: "The doctrine of the Holy Trinity is not taught in the Old Testament."

What are the sentences that come right after what you quoted? Why does the Watchtower not tell you?

I'm a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon is just a nickname) and I'll try my best to explain.

We basically refer to God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost as part of the Godhead, one in purpose (what one would say or do, the others would say or do), yet physically 3 separate beings.

The only main difference from the concept of the "trinity" is that we don't see them as physically being the same entity.

    The trinity teaches that:

    1. Jehovah God

    2. Jesus Christ, his Son

    3. The Holy Spirit

are all wrapped up into one and represent one thing.

This is not the case for how can God be his Son and a holy spirit all wrapped up into one body?

Trying to understand the trinity doctrine of which is false is like this:

A little boy is at the ocean with his plastic bucket and a shovel. He sits his bucket about 20 feet from the ocean and begins scooping up ocean water from the ocean, one scoop at a time over into his bucket.

A man walks by and notices the young boy's odd behavior and asks him why he is scooping ocean water into his bucket 20 feet away. The boy replies: "Because I'm trying to take the ocean from way over there and move it over here to my bucket. I'm trying to move the ocean".

The man is obviously puzzled by what the boy says and walks away confused. This is how trying to make sense of the trinity leaves those thinking, those ones who are intelligent enough to realize "there is a problem" with accepting the false doctrine of the trinity.

Jesus always said his father was greater than he was and he was God's only begotten son. This means he was directly created by God; not that he was God at all. You can put in trinity in the search box to get more information at http://www.watchtower.org/ The trinity is a false doctrine.

It means someone's life if they lie to you refusing to teach accurate knowledge based on God's word, the Bible. There are many false religions that "make up junk" as they go along. Be careful and always pray for guidance. If your heart is sincere, Jehovah will show you the way. Only he truly knows your heart.
