Can you give some ideas for my friend for Father's days traditions she can start for her girls?
They are 3 and 8 and their Father passed away suddenly last year. I'm thinking some happy things they can do. They were at church in tears this Father's Day.

This is a tough issue to deal with but it's not a good idea to avoid it. Just because it causes tears, doesn't mean it's a bad thing. If there is a family memorial such as a grave-site, then they should go there; talk about him, even tell him what the past year has brought them. If there's no grave-site then think about going to the father's favorite place, or the place his ashes were scattered. Kids of that age are able to cope with grief and to understand the sorrow of others. I'm sure the three year-old could sing her favorite song to him, and - if he's listening...
It's probably a chance for Mother to talk about him, what kind of person he was, and how proud he'd be of them.
