Please Help Me With my Wireless Internet?

HI am having troubles using the internet. It says I am connected to the Wireless internet.

This is what it says under

Wireless Network Contection status

Status: Connected

Network: Free Pubic Wifi

Signal STrengh: 5 bars

Speed: 11mbps

Packets Sent: 440

Packets REcieved 0

Why is my interent not working. What do I need to do? Please advise. I am getting frustrated. It says I am connected so I am so confused on why I am not able to use the web.

    Sounds like a n IP issue. Either there is a security code on the Wifi you are seeing or you have a fixed IP on your computer that is not compatible. If you click on Start/Network Connections it will open with the wireless connection listed. Right click on it and then double click TCP/IP. Make sure there are not any entries. If so, write them down for reconnection to that system later. Select the Obtain Automatically.

    If that doesn't work, right click the Icon in the lower right task bar and select Connect to a Network. Select the network by name and then on the Connect button. In the same area that you got the status, you should be able to click on details and see the IP address that was issued.

    Double click on the tv icons in the taskbar, next to the clock, then click the support tab, click on the repair button. That helps me sometimes when I cannot connect..Good Luck..

    click on the wireless internet icon on the bottom of your screen and click on connect if that is not working click on your wireless connection and click troubleshooting to find the problem if you have cable hookup check if your conection is pushed in all the way
