please someone tell me?
heres the thing we went camping last winter at someone house in our camper and then we got it stuck and couldnt get it out until now anyway the problem is we left all of our box and canned food in there and i need to know how do you tell if its still good or does it all need to be thrown out? i know if the cans are bulging they are bad but what if it looks ok? and what about ketchup and bbq sauce (unopened)? im sure it all froze and thawed but i hate to throw it out if its good but i dont want to get sick either... anyone know the answers to this????
i know if its expired not to eat it but i was more worried about the fact that it has probably froze then tawed then froze again not sure what that will do to it even if it was brand new.

There are some good links out there to the shelf life of various items. I've picked one to include here, but any decent web search would get you the rest, and you may well want to get second and third opinions on some things! It looks like a lot of the canned stuff will still be okay if you bought it shortly before making your trip.
Ditto on whoever said throw out the box food. Even if no critters got into it, I'd be worried about mold.

Check the expiration or use by dates. Cans with spoiled food do NOT always bulge. If any can hisses when you open it, toss it. The unopened ketchup and barbecue sauce should be okay.

If it looks okay, it probably is okay. If the food had frozen, like the plastic bottles, it would have burst or cracked. They should be fine. Like you said, if any of them are bulging, toss them.

I would check the dates on the cans and condiments, but please throw out all the box food. There is no telling what could have gotten to it.
