How do you get rid of milk once it's soaked into the car carpet... after TWO days?

My friend was late for work and upset a whole milk carton into the car mat and the carpet underneath. He left it for two days and now he's got a yogurt farm on stink overdrive in his car. Any suggestions to make his car drivable again?

My wife did the same thing, but it was only with about 8 oz. and it only sat one day. I bought one of those carpet cleaner cans with the scrubby head on it. I soaked up what I could first with paper towels, then went to town with the scrubber. It went from the front seat all the way to the back. It got pretty rank after a while, worse that the milk alone. I did it about two or three times and didn't think the smell would ever come out. Surprisingly a few days later the smell was just gone. It had to air out a bit...maybe my olfactory nerves just died and I'm immune to spoiled milk now. I was thinking of rubbing in laundry detergent if that failed. Some have enzymes which break down proteins. Good luck.

you can spray it with like spray and wash or some carpet cleaner...maybe try anti-bacterial hand soap? scrub this in to the carpet REALLY well, like with a hard bristled brush so it gets deep down in there...pour some water on it and let some towels soak it up...maybe do it a couple tilmes...maybe try a little febreeze if it smells still? that taking it to a car wash sounds good too...if none of that works...don't cry over spilled milk (haha i couldn't resist) =)

Some serious soap or something. Maybe you could take your car to a car wash where they wash it for you and they will be able to get it out.

call some kids from the corner and pay them to clean it.... they will figure out!!
