Should those who love Jesus call themselves something other than Christians?

Hitler told the Germans he was a Christian on a God Ordained Mission and they bought it.

The KKK are all Christian, right?

Most mainstream protestant churches are getting more and more liberal every day, even allowing things that were unspeakable 100 yrs ago, and they ere "Christian".

Now the one and only true "Christian Church" on Planet Earth , the Mormons, want to be considered (the one and only true) Christians.

I say let them have it.

Those who love Jesus, know who they are.

Can any of you come up with a new name for this group of Believers?

The Son of TAN MAN

No....Jesus himself said to let the weeds grow amongst the wheat and that he would settle stuff at the harvest. Since we as Christians do all for Jesus anyway, no doubt he knows who we are....no matter what we call ourselves. Besides....aren't we setting ourselves up as judges if we're going to form an elitist group of whom we consider to be "true followers" of Jesus?

"...while you are pulling the weeds, you may root up the wheat with them. 30Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn" (MT 13:29-30)

Sacrifice for sin is "Pauline theology." Jesus Christ preached the Kingdom gospel about a treasure hid in a field. If Christians took the original gospel to heart, I think a lot of this friction would just disappear.

After all, who can get angry at a person who is preaching the golden rule. Do unto others.

The ones you mention are Christian Identity, believing that the 10 lost tribes of Israel became the Europeans, and those who returned to Jerusalem from Babylonia were the Jews. Their theology and behaviour stem from this.

The traditional churches will have nothing to do with this racist idea.

You really don't have to have a name, do you? If you name yourself / yourselves something different then it will all just happen over again and you'll end up with a bunch of the same kinds of people calling themselves that and making you look bad.....

I have seen some mention on here that they do not follow Christianity , they follow Jesus

so some do disassociate themself from the group

Actually, we prefer to call ourselves what the believers in the Bible called temselves:

    Saints.

    Pharasees!

They confess w/ their mouth, but their actions are the complete opposite. They talk big, but act little.

They already have a name silly, they're called fundamentalists.
