question about dying my hair?

so i dyed my hair dark dark brown 2 months ago with those little herbal essences boxes things for like 7 bucks or whatever. lately though, about a month after i dye it, it always starts getting way lighter.. like back to my normal color (which is a medium brown). so i'm going on vacation on july 2nd, and want to dye my hair dark dark brown again. but i thought i heard once before that you are only supposed to dye your hair once every 3 months.. and it's only been 2 since the last time i dyed it. is what i heard true ? do i have to wait 3 months to dye it again ?..

thank youuu

Go to a professional hairstylist and get their opinion. From what you are saying (writing) it sounds like you need to get your base color back to the darker color you first started with.

One easy way for you to do this is go to a reputable stylist and have them low light your hair heavily. Lowlighting is weaving dark pieces of hair color throughout your whole head. The low lighting seems to stay longer than the regular all over the head process because more color is concentrated on smaller sections of hair.

You can probably do this every 3 months, but most people get bored with the same color after 6 months and like t change it up a bit.

A combination of high and lowlights is very popular now, but it depends on what you like and your hair and skin tone.

The more often you dye your hair, the more likely it can get damaged. You CAN dye your hair again. It will keep fading though, and will never be that dark all the time. You might want to check out some Color Glaze. It's this product you wash into your hair and it gives you the more vibrant color you are looking for. It REALLY helps for in between coloring and it makes your hair really shiny. My favorite is one by John Frieda. You can buy it all over the place and it's not very expensive.

Coloring your hair is stressful on your hair. You really need to let a professional do it for you. If you do it , could be a chance you will have a line of demacation, and the ends of your hair will be a lot darker than the rootage. Always remember, STORE BOUGHT COLOR IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATES, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOUR GONNA GET!!!! :)

If it was a permanant dye, yes wait three months. also try a shampoo made for color treated hair it helps keep the color longer.and Try staying out of the sun it lightens your hair. hope this helps

I usually dye my hair every two months. You need to keep it well conditioned. I use conditioner everyday, then once a month a deep condition it with VO5. You also need to keep it cut regularly.

Source(s): I use Loreal Coulure Experte. It has a tube of conditioner that lasts for a whole month after coloring to condition your hair.

ive heard that too but ive went about two months and it was ok... but expect it to fade again. my friend went to get hers done professionally and they always say go three shades darker than what you want in the end so it fades to that color... i hope this helps
