What is the stupidest mistake you have ever made with your child/children?

I thought of this because the other day I was doing too many errands and I put the baby in the car seat and I had to turn around to move the cart and forgot to buckle her in. I was driving and all of a sudden I look over and she is crawling in between the seats onto the front seat! Scared me!

I did that before my kid could crawl and that is the dumbest thing I have ever done. On the other hand I am told every parent does this at least once and hopefully you will remeber what you did the next time. Remeber when we were kids they did not have car seats so you can only beat yourself up so much

I did something like that. We have a carseat for our 2 yr. old, and a carseat for our 4 yr. old. The 4 yr. old's car seat is very easy to unbuckle, which has never been a problem because he knows better....

Well, last week, I was in a hurry, and was going somewhere with only the 2 yr. old. I decided to put him in his brother's car seat because it is so much quicker, and he loves riding in it.

While we were on the highway, he figured out the buckle....

Luckily the windows were only open maybe 6 inches, because he immediately stood up and grabbed the window, and tried sticking his head out. He did this the entire time we were on the highway (there was no where for me to pull over)

I was so worried that he was going to get hurt, but he just kept making faces at the car next to us.... lol.

He rides in his own car seat no matter what now.

Another dumb one was atching our 4 year old fall down the steps. We have hardwood stairs in our house, and we were about to leave to go somewhere (this was about a year ago)

I remembered something I needed upstairs, so I ran up to grab it. I did not realise he had followed me up. When I grabbed what i needed, I turned around, right as he was reaching the top. He fell down the stairs, and I could do nothing to stop him(I would have only fallen on top of him)

I felt so bad, he hit his head on EVERY step on the way down.

When he got to the bottom, he wasn't moving. I ran down to him, but I was afraid to touch him, in case his neck was broken or something. He was silent for a good 10 seconds, I was about to call 911, when he grabbed the back of his head and let out a scream. He only screamed that once, and then he just got up to go like nothing happened. I think I about had a heart attack! He didn't even have a bump on his head, no bruises, nothing. I don't think I will ever forget that day...

Put a child who was too young to roll over on a changing table and turned away. Yep, she rolled off. Luckily she wasn't hurt but I think I cried as much as she did.

I've since learned that anytime I do something and immediately start thinking about the weird things that could happen, I should probably not do that.

My brother grow to be born while i grow to be 13, so relatively usually I had to alter his diaper. One time I did only approximately the final element you probably did. I put in on the mattress, found out I had no diaper, reached for it and once I circled... "the place is he?"... under the mattress!!! :O it relatively is even worse: With my own daughter, now 2 a million/2 (I only approximately ask your self how she's made it this a tactics...) Me and my husband concept my mom in regulation grow to be abode, and we went to the save, leaving the toddler in mattress, 20 min. later as quickly as we got here back, we found out that my mom in regulation grow to be no longer abode...
