Depends on what you mean. If you want a restricted wifi system then contact d-link (or your router manufacturer) and see if your wifi router has the ability to restrict access so that only people with a key are able to access it.
If you just want to get wifi with restricting access. You just have to plug in your network wire (cat-5e) from the modem (or network jack) into the router.

it depends on which model,
if you have the Dl-624...go to your router gui(usually 192.168.0.1 for a dlink router, or you can check what your default gateway is and put that in your ie address bar.)
usually it would ask you for a uid and pw, i think for dlink, the default is uid: admin pw: admin.
on the left side you have a button for wireless. you can set the radio to on.
do your configurations like change the ssid to a name you want to use.
set the security too...wep would be the easiest to configure. 64-bit would be 10 hex characters (0-9 a-f)
128bit would be 26 hex characters.
just hit apply then continue. and you're done.
