Sounds like a good solution to me....around here, we have a lot of youths running loose, spray painting grafitti on things, breaking things, and acting like hooligans, while mom and dad sit around at home, drunk.
I'd say, lock both the kids and the adults up, for about a month, so they can all experience what's going wrong at the household.

I blame the Government, how can you hold parents accountable, when the laws are based against parents using physical punishment to admonish their kids? Some 14 to sixteen year old kids are over six feet tall, with no father! How in Gods name does a five foot three mother, overcome that? The laws are based on the kids rights in society, but the Authorities do not realise that juveniles just abuse that privilege, because they are cunning enough to manipulate the law to their advantage, but not mature enough to appreciate why the laws are on the statute books for them. Have a good day.

I believe they do in some cases but, if you've ever been a teenager you know that you ll do whatever you want regardless, at least the majority of the time, I don't think is fair to hold parents responsible that's why in some cases teens are treated as adults.

You have a good point but, the government wants to have some impute how people raise their kids, therefore government should be liable not the parents.
I was raised by my parents long time ago

They can only be held accountable for so long. If they are 13 and up it is there problem, not the parents. Thats how I believe it should be.

That would be easy if parents always had the resources
to deal with a troublesome child.
However, they don't.
However, if a family knows that their kid is turning into a axe
murderer and does nothing about it, yeah, I can see holding
them jointly accountable.

It wouldn't do any good. Society is way too messed up for anything like that. It's too late.

Why, are you a parent?
