Where were you 20 yrs ago when the Berlin wall came down? I was a 30 yr old in Berlin calling home to USA to tell them what was happening and that I was about to go join the party...My mother was crying on phone telling me to get to the airport and come home.

I am getting so tired of hearing conservatives railing against illegals from south of the border...isn't it time we start wondering and maybe worrying about the Cubans who have such a hold on politics here? They get a free pass and all the social services...funny thing is talk to any of them and they were all doctors or lawyers and from well to do families...Same thing I hear from all the Vietnamese refugees I meet in my area...why not send them all home and let them make their country work...why should we accept some but not others? I would take a Mexican or Salvadoran with a family back home who is simply trying to make their life bearable over a Cuban or a Viet who knows how to work the system...gives nothing back and wants to change the country to benefit them... any day! We had major protests a few months ago because veit nam wanted to open a consulate here and the Viet community was against it...older generation most young were for it....THey hold a concert in Havana and Cubans here go loco... Thoughts?

would it have not better served to get the economy going to reinstate the federal tax deduction for credit card ( and maybe other forms of credit) interest? I do not see how a 33 million dollar gift to improve Samoan finances is going to do much except for one large company(see link) that employs 75% of the Samoan workforce...interesting also that Pelosi's husband (and therefore her by association) owns $17 mil in company stock...now I am neither a republican nor a democrat (just someone who thinks we deserve better government and less ideology) but are there not better ways to get our economy going?

During the GW days government was radically expanded and deficits were not only the norm but we were told they were a good thing...now all of a sudden with a democratic president we are told that republicans are looking out for us and trying to curb the deficits...is this a bit like pot calling the kettle black? Now I am an independent with conservative leanings but just do not see how I can trust either party...starting to look like business as usual in Washington...Isn't it time for the people to take the reigns and force politicians to do our bidding?

Since they are having tonight's presidential debate moderated by the minister of a mega church doesn't that prove there is no longer a separation of church and state? Shouldn't that mean now we can tax churches and reap the benefits of those mega dollar machines?

I took my rebate check and sent it to a friend who runs a charity in Guatemala...$25.00/mo $300.00yr you can sponsor a school child to get his/her education...I already have one now I have 2 more...the $600,00 I got would not make any noticable change in my life...I know and have worked with this charity (know the person who started it) his expenses are never more than 5% of donations and most can not say that...so my question is: was I wrong for being a bad American (as a friend stated at lunch today)and trying to be a good human(helping two less fortunates get an education and maybe not resort to becoming ilegal aliens)?

Are we so different? do we look for different things? Are you gay or straight and what do you look for?

What do you think has caused it? Political affiliation? Religious belief? Group thought?

I have a 25 gal freshwater tank that has an infestation of snails...I bought a breed of fish that was supposed to eat them...worked great for a few months...but now I am back to what it was...what is the name of the fish? Other ideas? I have already tried breaking down tank and boiling everything...did not work....any ideas appreciated.
