Presidential debate Hosted by mega church pastor...No longer separation of Church & State?

Since they are having tonight's presidential debate moderated by the minister of a mega church doesn't that prove there is no longer a separation of church and state? Shouldn't that mean now we can tax churches and reap the benefits of those mega dollar machines?

Update:

Said nothing about it being held in a church....and also said nothing about it being a christian church...point was seperation of church and state(church being religious business whether christian jewish moslem etc)

Churches should be taxed just like every other business.

An election debate is not government sponsored, and therefore has nothing to do with the curch/state issue. Politicians from every part of the political spectrum frequently speak in churches. By law, if a pastor uses his pulpit to endorse political candidates and causes, then that particular church could lose its tax exempt status.

So called "mega churches" comprise a tiny minority of churches. Most churches are poor, and there would be little added benefit from taxing them.

Guess you would be ok with an atheist moderator. The Constitution does not guarantee freedom from religion. Even the Court's ruling in Everson v Board of Education is controversial. Some, including former Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist, have criticized Everson for its reliance on quotations and views from Thomas Jefferson, who had little to do with the framing of the U.S. Constitution or its Bill of Rights.

A presidential debate in a church is not a state issue. Teaching middle schoolers creationism in Biology is.

    No.

Did you suggest that Obama's church should be taxed, or are you only interested in taxing Christian churches with a more conservative point of view? If you did not suggest that Trinity church be taxed, then you are a hypocrite.

    Not at all.

It proves that some churches are neutral venues for fair presentation of both sides, not prejudice mills that tell you for whom to vote.

You have a point and thats where i think the American Politics fail. Now all they do is think about how would Jesus feel or who would God vote for

If you think the founding fathers never met or debated inside a church you are probably retarded.
