There's something sad about the fact that none of these people saw a problem with putting people's (law abidding taxpayers) rights up for a vote.

Also interesting is that mormons spent neary $20 million on an anti-gay propaganda and disinformation campaign. The fact that these people used lies to get this passed speaks volumes about their values.

I'm a pretty liberal democrat, but the fags need to stop crying. This whole concept of gay people getting married is very new compared to other issues. I'm sick of people saying that blacks voting for prop 8 are being hypocritical. Black people are born black and they were truly discriminated against. They don't owe gays anything. Gay people made a choice to be gay. They are NOT a race of people! Besides, it's not like a few people in Sacremento decided this for everyone. The entire voting populous made this decision.

why does society have to bend for everyone. In every society there have been cast offs. Society has spoken, they DO NOT WANT gay marriages. What is so hard to get about it? YOUR opinion is the minority making it wrong in a democratic society. And, why single out California? Every other state that has voted on a ban has passed the ban. And, no to directly answer your question, the fed's have to bail out California if they are really going broke.

The fact is - Gay marriage was put to vote, democratically, and they lost democratically. If it is what the populous wants it is called a democracy.

As far as buying a vote? Well isn't that what Obama did? But in his case it's okay right? In Obama case it's good politics right?

We took on step forward on Tuesday *( obama ) and 65 steps back ( prop 8) I think its just sad that even in 08, we cant look past this haterd we have in ourselves, and let people be people.

I love California. It's great that San Francisco infringes on the people's right to own a firearm, but allow a street festival (Folsom) that has a bunch of half naked perverts running around. What a great place to raise a family.

You know my mother would always tell me to say when I was a kids of course, before speaking say it in your head first make sure your not making a fool of yourself, than say it out loud.. This applies to you as well..
