Would not making interest on credit cards deductable again served better?

http://www.snopes.com/politics/pelosi/americansamo...

would it have not better served to get the economy going to reinstate the federal tax deduction for credit card ( and maybe other forms of credit) interest? I do not see how a 33 million dollar gift to improve Samoan finances is going to do much except for one large company(see link) that employs 75% of the Samoan workforce...interesting also that Pelosi's husband (and therefore her by association) owns $17 mil in company stock...now I am neither a republican nor a democrat (just someone who thinks we deserve better government and less ideology) but are there not better ways to get our economy going?

I agree with you and I am an Independent also.

It looks as if Pelosi is scratching her own palm. Perhaps we can call it payback for her support of Obama for Pres?

We are not going to have a better government until we get rid of those that believe in party politics as usual. I am not suggesting a new party.....but a NO Party Party if you will.

I don't want to put up my own candidate....but the political machines of both the republicans and democrats are so powerful and so rich that a third candidate never has a chance anyway.

And, the parties are not going to disappear because THAT would require the congress itself to disban them....and we KNOW that will never happen.

So, as one American to another, we are going to get it in the end as usual and have no choice but to grin and bear it.

Because all those politicians are involved in these credit card companies/banks and getting rich on the interest we pay them.

You are right. At least we should be able to deduct the interest we pay simply to enrich them. They would surely still get their 'fair?' share.

Having this deduction would immediately put money into the economy and we wouldn't have to wait two or three years. It's tax time and this would stimulate the economy at least by May 1st.

There is really nothing in this Pelosi/Reid/Obama package that will help responsible people doing the right thing.

this finished mess began in 1981 whilst Reagan signed into regulation the abolition of all anti usury regulations. without anti usury regulations, the sub top very own loan woud no longer have been available. There could be loan disaster if no longer for sub top loans. Even the infamous bill that conservatives choose to declare led to this would possibly no longer have accomplished any harm if usury remained outlawed. in the present day line good judgment, no longer something fancy. Reagan became into no longer the only one to blame, however the roots circulate back to that era. Now that the partisanship is complete; we ought to reinstate the anti usury regulations or a minimum of positioned some barriers on it.

If you dont pay the initial interest then they will keep raising it in future credit card bills.
