My name is Cheryl. I am new to the group. I have a 5 1/2 yr old son with severe Epilepsy, autisim, Developmental, & Speech Delaye's, Slep Walks, & will go 3-7+ days on 30min - 5 hrs of sleep during that whole time frame. I can totaly relate to stress eating. what I try to do is , direct my attention to something that will bring my stress down like listen to your favorite music, Take a warm bath, yoga, just try to do something to redirect your self away from eating. If you still need to eat choose something healthy, with less fat & cals. I hopr this helps. Have a Blessed day Cheryl Mom to Brendan

Me too.
It isn't how often you eat, eating small amounts more frequently is better for you. It's WHAT you eat as comfort food.
Eat healthier snacks, trail mix, veggie sticks, fruit.
A lot of what causes the stress is not just the situation but the food itself. Sugar will take you up, but then you will crash and go through even more stress. Sugar is almost like a stress inducing drug in your body, keep it to a minimum.
Also, get help. If your son is autistic, perhaps there are programs available during the day where he can be councelled by professions who understand his condition

well i can relate to your problem w/the stress you have i think everybody has stress they cant seem to handle very well i myself have scipt of xanax that i use when stressed out it helps me relate and handle the problems of the day..another thing is patience which i am sure you have he/she will grow up out of this somewhat so the eating thing if you want to slow it down or stop it all together think of some type of food product you hate and think of it to be what yu are eating at that time like if yu hate oysters ......uhhgg nasty things they are..and there yu go ....uhhggg getting sick to think of them...hope this will help
