Ofcourse it hurts. Soccer is one of the many things us Mexicans do better than Americans. Well at least we used to de better. This is such a painful lose because there was a time when USA were nothing in. soccer. Mexico will humiliate them everytime they faced each other, but those days are long gone. USA has grown so much, and many Mexican just can't axcept it. Mexico has been beaten by the USA i the last 6-7 years I think. Personally I like the USA, Ive gone from hating them to loving them, theyr'e a smart team, dedicated, and dont take opportunities for granted. Mexico is still greate, just like they always been, but I haven't seen any improvement since I can remember, since 1994 back when I was12. they seem to be a lil' mediocre not aspiring for more.

Thats why it kills me to see USA beat Mexico.. but hey .. los pendejos de Mexico can capitalize on their opportunities.

Did someone say that the US passed Mexico's level? Are you that ignorant?

The U.S. has played better for some time, but in 2-10 years, will it be the same? Probably not.

Soccer is not a ladder to climb, Brazil is not next on your sights. The U.S. has failed repeatedly in the World Cup and not gone to the 2nd round. Mexico is a guarantee for the 2nd round. Even when they had the Group of Death, Mexico qualified.

The U.S. has not proven a thing to the World other than they can beat Mexico. Woopeee. When you compete against the world, please send me a message.

Mexico in the World Cup equals a loss in the 2nd round.

The U.S. in the World Cup equals a joke.

The U.S. plays well for Mexico but will not step up against the rest of the world. Hence the young team being sent to Copa America. The U.S. forfeited the tourney before it started.

I hope the person that made this comment is 10 years old or younger because that was ignorant.

I agree. The defeat hurts because it seems that soccer is the only sport were Mexico can show a better level than the US. Lorena Ochoa could be at the top of the charts in golf but most Mexicans (and people in general) do not understand the game as to be cheering for one or another.

Back to soccer. The US has had the continuity in a soccer project and the support (for minimal that it could be compared to other sports programs) from its leaders (at a sports level) for Mexico it is mostly an economics and marketing thing.

The point of this question was to get answers from Mexicans about loosing to the US. ok here is the answer does it hurt? yes. why? because they are rivals. are we sore losers? no we are not we are dissapointed with our team. this has nothing to do with the United States its a matter of performance and capabilities, you cant compare and Eddie Johnson to an Omar Bravo, An Onyewu to Rafael Marquez. see Mexico has quality but didnt have enough time to put the team together, so ok the US won, they are the gold cup champs and whats your point in this question? that the US is better? ok so they have been successful in the past 2 yrs but let me answer you with facts not opinion because my opinion is irrelevant since i will lean towards mexico but the facts and statistics dont lie....

in Official matches they have faces eachother 58 times in which Mexico won 30, lost 11 and tied 17

so who si the Gigant of the region... you judge.

The only reason it hurts soooooo much, is because the mexican media has begun for quite a while a campaign to deceit mexican followers making them believe the mexican team is far better than any one in CONCACAF besides they despise south americans and southamerican soccer, the only team they respect " a little " is Brazil. That mentality makes their failures very painful, they need to be more respectful and realistic, and drop the arrogance for good, when that happens the mexican will become again a powerful team

will not really i just hate to see how when a team actually played better loses to a team that didn't mexico outplayed united states in the first half then they outplayed usa in the first 20 minutes of the second half then they called the penalty in which the usa player seem to have gotten his leg stuck between the mexican player then the ball fell right in front of the usa player legs after a mexican player knock it off a corner kick but they won so congratulation usa and i also hate how reporters be writing how usa totally outplayed mexico but they didn't so get right

im happy for US, but that does not mean they played better, Mexico out classed them, and it sucks they lost, but thats soccer as far as US being better then mexico at soccer right now maybe cause we have a bunch of old farts playing, but wait till the U-21 crew starts playing with the big boys then we will see who is better

im Mexican-American and it hurt that mexico lost, but at least US won! so congratulations USA!

@ enano---What do you mean, "just the same thing they did "?? If you recall, the referee in the Canadian game was Mexican, and he made the call, not the USA team. In the Mexico game, referee was also Hispanic, from Central America. Something in your acusation just isn't holding up....

well...i didn't watch it personally, but USA is kinda known for it's baby soccer (which mean not playing well), and plus there was a penalty kick, i mean cmon, so when a team which has tons of potential and is as good as Mexico looses to USA people just don't understand and get upset.

I was there and it was a great game. I'm happy that the US team won. They played much better than the Mexican team since the beginning of the cup. I'm a Mexico fan and a US fan but I'm not gonna whine about Mexico losing. I was called a sellout by some stupid Mexican fans at the game for cheering on the US. I'm Mexican-American you swear I'm not gonna cheer on my country. Even my parents who are Mexicans were happy for the US. I guess it hurts their fans more that it was the US that beat them.
