Sprinkle in a little nutmeg. It'll liven it right up.

Hot sauce, just a couple of dashes. You can add chopped broccoli florettes while the macaroni is cooking. I like to add a little mustard powder to my homemade mac and cheese. Try adding a can of diced tomatoes and a teaspoon of cumin for a southwest twist.

I always add a few drops of Tabasco and about 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard to my homemade mac-and-cheese. I don't see why it wouldn't work with a boxed one just as well. It adds a little tiny bit of bite without making it taste like a whole different dish.

Try heating it up in the oven with seasoned croutons over the top. That's how they serve it in high-end restaurants!! Not sure I would add spices directly to the mac and cheese mix. Does not sound too appealing to me.

Chorizo and some Chipotle peppers chopped finely. It adds a smokey spicey flavor. Its great, I watched Rachel Ray do this on thirty minute meals. Here is a link for the recipe!!! Its delicious

In my potpies I like cumin, thyme, celery salt (or celery seed--you may not need this with the celery soup), basil and parsley. Of course I add salt and pepper, too. Cumin is one of my favorite spices for a gravy and of course potpie has a gravy. It doesn't take a whole lot of any of these spices, but let your tongue tell you what you want to add more of. Good luck!

Our all time favorite is ketchup! have also seen cottage cheese added. Mrs. Dash adds a nice mix of low sodium flavor.

Try a bit of dry mustard.

Also a decent amount of pepper.

    Yum
