Would sending illegal aliens to war be a good idea?
My dad's neighbor suggested that sending illegal aliens to war would be a great idea. BY drafting them and sending them out would be a genuine thing to do? If they love living in a America, would they also love serving our country? I would like to hear everyones thoughts/opinions about this matter.
Thanks.

War like in Iraq? No. War like D-Day? Maybe.
OK, seriously, the idea of a 'foriegn legion' of some sort might not be entirely foolish. If entirely mercenary, it'd at least be more boots on the ground. If volunteer, it would at least show a certain commitment to thier adopted country.

Contrary to what you may think...natural born citizens of illegal immigrant parents serve the armed forces with pride.
Next time you hear how many illegals are in this country, know that a high percentage of their children will fight and die for this country.

Perhaps you didn't see the demonstration in LA over the weekend. The pro-immigration demonstrators blocked the anti-immigration demonstrators (the ones with the permit to assemble) from entering the park they had a permit to use. The Pro-immigration demonstrators were waving Mexican Flags, not American. I can not believe that any of these people would serve any country but Mexico, since that is obviously where their allegiance remains.

No, for one the Army is not intended to be a "punishment", and a drafted army is known to be less effective than a volunteer one. What do you think would happen if we suddenly went to war with Mexico or another Latin American country?

If people would sneak into my country, why would I trust them to fight for it? Further, I don't want to owe my admiration to sneaky illegals -- they don't deserve it, whereas the American citizens who are in uniform do deserve my admiration and gratitude (even if I am against this bogus "war" in Iraq).

Almost all countries in the history of the world who relied on transcript troops has lost. Doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

naw. the military would pay too good a salary to them. dont worry, when north america union starts 12 million illegals will suddenly find themselves legal and american.

I think it would be a horrible idea. I would not want to have people in the military that do not speak English. If you are in combat you don't have time to try and get someone to understand you that does not speak your language.

Put a mine field 500 ft deep all along the border and those who get through, give them a gun and send them to war. If they make it through the war, let 'em stay!

No, most of the illegals don't have enough education to be effective in the military
